The Hobgoblin kidnaps Liz Osborn and Mary Jane. Mary Jane reveals her past. Spider-Man battles Scorpion. And J Jonah Jameson has to chose between his son or wife to be what will happen ? And other stuff Review: This epic collection was very well written - I love how this epic collection featured Spider-Man’s adventures upon rejecting the symbiote and how Peter Parker’s reputation persisted throughout his life donning a new cloth costume that looks similar to that of the Venom Symbiote but still pertains a sense of belonging considering how people got used to seeing him in a new black costume. Not only that but I loved how these collected stories’ themes were about being with family and overall being mindful when it comes to dealing with ghosts of the pasts. In conclusion, this was an awesome Amazing Spider-Man epic collection and I can’t wait to read the next one!!

Nice tribute
This collection contains some milestones, such as J.J.J.'s marriage and Spider whooping on Firelord, a Herald of Galactus! Well worth your money. But my favorite part was Ron Frenz' artwork, which was clearly a tribute to Steve Ditko. It was like having more early issues of the Amazing Spider-Man. And Bob Layton helped, as well as doing some great art himself. Pick it up or download the Kindle version. You won't regret it.

This is the way to reprint
I've got a lot of Spider-Man reprints. I've got a bunch of the Essentials releases... I have a bunch of the hardcover Masterworks. I passed on the Omnibus collections, since those were way too pricy. This is the first time I'm really, really happy with the release. The big stuff. This starts off with ASM 259. This is the last comic that was in my old trade paperback of the Alien Costume saga. It's an issue that spends a lot of time in conversation between Peter and Mary Jane, while simultaneously setting up an arc with the Hobgoblin. From there, we jump into ASM annual 18, which has Scorpion messing with J. Jonah Jameson as Jameson is planning to get married. This is a big deal to me. I love having the annual stories reprinted, since they haven't gotten much love in most of the other reprints. This extends a little, reprinting Web of Spider-Man 1 and 6. The first one ties up some loose ends involving the alien costume, and #6 ties into a Secret Wars II storyline that Spider-Man had, involving a building being transformed into gold. There are some really notable issues in this. I love the gold building storyline. There are a few issues dealing with Spider-Man fighting Firelord, which has come to be appreciated. Spider-Kid... Hobgoblin, the Rose... a very fun issue where Spider-Man tracks a criminal to the suburbs. All of this is presented chronologically. The paper is good, the color is good. The binding is good. Then there are a few little touches that I really like. First, there's a volume number. This is volume 15. This means that they have planned these releases out. I like the promise that this implies. Second, there's a table of contents, which includes the issue, the title of the story, and the month and year. I know this sounds trivial, but when I would read the Essentials volumes, sometimes I would want to look up some of the current events, and most of the time, there wouldn't be a year anywhere. Even though I have several of these issues reprinted elsewhere, I'm very happy that there are these releases, and the comprehensive approach is very appreciated. I might actually pick up a few volumes of other characters that I don't like as much, just because the experience is so ideal.

Five Stars
Fantastic book, Tom Defalco's run on Amazing Spider-Man is my third favorite after Roger Stern's and Stan Lee's.

Spidey fans only...
Pretty nice collection of some fun Spiderman stories. Not as good as Spiderman Epic Collection: Cosmic Adventures or Spiderman Epic Collection: Great Power though. May not be the best read if you're not familiar with the character.
