Good Overview on Major World Religions for Children
I bought this book for my daughter, because I think it's important to be aware and respectful of different religions and beliefs. In a children's book, it is difficult to cover every religion to everyone's satisfaction, but in general, we thought this book did a good job. She was in the third grade at the time we got it for her, and she says she really enjoyed reading it.The book stars out with a brief over view of religion, what it is, and for me personally, I like that it touches on the fact that people have done good and bad things in the name of their religion, because even as a woman of faith, I think that's a fair point to be made and understood. It then goes on to give overviews of some of the major religions. In my opinion, there's no way to cover every feature of such complex topics in a children's book, and people in less populaced groups, such as Nichiren Diashonen Buddhists, won't see their group covered in here and may find that offensive because of how much they cherish their belief system.General overviews of the larger belief systems is what I expected, and what I got. Some groups may be disappointed not to be in there, but I personally thought it was a good enough selection for a children's book. I think it is the same with any children's book, it's the start of a journey in learning, you can't cover everything at once or it's too overwhelming and nothing sticks...that's how I see this book. A start of a journey, that we will help her fill in with more information as she gets older or as she wants it.

Comprehensive introduction to a variety of religions
I purchased this book as a homeschool curriculum. My oldest son was getting a little confused on religion as my husband and I share different views then my mother. My mother was trying to impress her views on to my kids. This book has really helped with showing my children a variety of religions. I do wish it had a few other religions included but overall it is a fantastic glimpse for children. It has been a great tool to use in our classroom as well as helping my children understand that there are so many different religions and it is their choice.

Great for Homeschooling as well!
We purchased this book as part of our little girl's (8 yr) homeschooling curriculum. We find it important that she, at least, gets some familiarity with the different religions and beliefs on our planet. The information contained within is relevant and concise. It does a great job of giving a top-down view. The illustrations are wonderful and make reading more enjoyable, but also do a good job of enhancing the written text.

Love it
Fantastic book for an overview of world religions. I'm an atheist and want my grandson to understand that all people have different beliefs. This will give him a good idea of some of those beliefs.

A great book for bringing the information of world religions to young readers
I got this for my niece who was getting Christian books read to her daily and I wanted her to get a more well-rounded education on religion. This book doesn’t promote any religion but gives a factual, concise, and illustrated account of so many of the world’s religious beliefs. I learned a thing or two myself! My niece (4) loves the illustrations and the easy to understand wording. I’d give 10 stars and buy again if possible. Do yourself and the young ones in your life a favor, get them this book.

A good book to give a child the general idea without any of the negatives
If I had to guess, this was written by a Christian. The book favors Christianity. I understand this was meant for Children but it would have been nice if the book touched on the negative divisive impacts of religion rather than merely skimming over the basic facts of certain religions. For instance- shamanism gets barely one page.Islam is page 9 and 44-49.Christianity is page 9 and 36-43.Buddhism has several nice pages as do several Asian holidays (some of which aren’t religious at all but cultural days of celebration).
