It works, but after a lot of frustration
Once you install this retaining ring don't expect to get it back out, it is not OEM, it is strong but also ifficult to install.

Almost got it right
Looks robust, which works against it. The hooks are more shallow than the oem so I couldn't even install it. Reused the original. Maybe huge ring pliers with very shallow inserts would work, but Ive never seen anything like that. If they machined the recesses for the pliers deeper, then it would have been fine. As it is, I couldn't even install it so I had to re-use the old one, and shipping will cost more to return than its work. If you happen to have a tool that fits this well, then it would probably be fine, but I can't confirm that.

Sad to say, Defective
The corners of the hooks for compressing the Ring were chamfered off, so that the snap ring pliers couldn't grip the ring at all. Very poorly made. Other types use an ear with a hole which makes for a very positive grip. Sad, because Dorman often has reasonably priced replacement parts that are of good quality. Sad also because per the service manual that is a part that is supposed to be replaced when replacing the wheel bearings, and that was the reason I bought one. I'm sure many reuse them, not arguing that. I had to do that as well, when I didn't want to; one became none. Hooray for Amazon as they refunded me and I didn't have to send it back.

Too fat
Had to reuse old ring. This ring was too thick and did not fit. Plus the hooks were not as good as the OEM ring and was harder to spring closed to slip into the hub. Nothing but a headache!

Impossible to compress
Because the indentations have no flat edges, I was unable to compress this ring with my snap ring or any other pliers. I had to reuse the old ring which did have flats that could be gripped with a pair of needle-nosed pliers. I'd appreciate it if someone could refer a tool that could be used to compress this Dorman snap ring. Maybe I could save a lot of aggravation next time.

took a few days longer than expected but its here
its a retainer ring, use the right pliers and it will help, not needle nose pliers but snap ring pliers
