Orient Kanno Japanese Automatic/Handwinding Diver Style Watch

I had a few Seikos already so I decided to get an Orient for my next addition and I was highly impressed. Excellent finishing and detail. The lume is comparable to Seiko or Citizen. Bezel action is tight with no back play. Hacking with hand winding and screw down crown. It's a bit large but not a deal breaker. If you're wrist is 7" and up your good. I got the black rubber strap version, but I've had it on NATO's , leather straps, tropic, etc. Definitely a "strap monster" at 22mm. Accuracy is fantastic. Maybe I got lucky but it's consistently around 5 seconds per day which is well within specs for the F692 inhouse movement inside and one of the more accurate mechanical watches I own. I've had this watch for over a year at the time of this review and I can honestly say for the $155 purchase price, it's probably the best value for what you get. Forget AliExpress Chinese homages with off the shelf NH35 movements. For the same money you get an in-house calibre movement, brand heritage, excellent finishing and detail from a watch maker that will stand behind their watches. Buy this watch and you won't be disappointed!

I purchased the black dial/red bezel Kano on the rubber strap, then the blue dial on the metal bracelet. These Kano watches are great for those with larger wrists, especially the rubber strap versions. With a 44mm diameter and 50mm lug-to-lug, they're pretty large watches. The rubber strap is surprisingly comfortable, so much so that I kept it on rather than swapping it with a Nato strap. I have 8.25-inch (210mm) wrists, and it fits with holes to spare. The blue dial watch is stunning. The pictures do not do the dial justice. Pros and cons: Great movement, excellent bezel (a bit tight until you work it in, but no play at all), screw-down crown, and a good rubber strap. Cons: Most of these are understandable given the price point of the Kano series. Mineral crystal, not sapphire. The metal bracelet has a few issues, like stamped metal clasp and hollow end links. But again, that's kind of expected for this price. I was a bit disappointed that the bracelet was so short (especially given that the rubber strap was a decent length). I had to purchase an extra link from Orient so it would fit my wrist. One would think the target market for this watch are those with large wrists, so having a short bracelet was an odd marketing choice. Love the watches and they are in the rotation to wear. If your wrist can handle the size, I highly recommend the Kano.

Great value for a large (44mm) size diver. Although it has mineral glass, you could always replace it for a piece of sapphire in the future. I have a 7" wrist, and the stock strap that came with it is really large... Like it could fit a large-sized wrist over a wetsuit. So... A real dive strap for a real diver. The strap itself is actually very comfortable, but I prefer the bracelet found on the other colorways, which you can get direct from Orient. The bracelet is decent, but fairly squeaky. However it looks and feels great. It's really tough to find a watch that looks good with red accents. I think this watch looks wonderful, personally. It also looks great paired with nato straps, and even though it is a 44mm case with 50mm lug-to-lug, this watch wears surprisingly comfortable. Anyone with a smaller than 7" wrist may find it too big. But for an in-house automatic movement, and a price when I purchased for under $200, this is pretty solid.

Outstanding finish and detail, perfect larger 45mm size. If this is Orients simplest spec WATCH it is truly impressive and beautiful in a simple, stylish way. Worth way more that others in this price range, an outstanding alternative to the Seikos which are too small and too shiny for me.

Great looking & beautiful automatic watch at a great price!!

Excellent build quality for its price. The f6922 movement inside the case is entry level but more than reliable enough. The size of the case, from lug to lug, is about 50mm, so it’s quite large for the average wrist. I wouldn’t recommend this particular model if you have a wrist diameter of under 7.5 inches (~19cm) because the case might be too big for you. You could consider looking at the Mako or other similar Orient models. On the other hand, if your wrist is 7.5 inches or bigger, go for it. I’ve received a few compliments on its look.

Great watch for the price it's on the bigger side

Pictures do this watch no justice. Such a nice looking watch for the price, along with a good weight & feel. Seems to keep time accurate, minus a couple of seconds which is going to happen. Bought for my son as a Christmas gift, his new everyday watch!

Great looking watch- the colour is so much better than the picture!

The watch is a quality one, the strap is very confortable and fits also the bigger wrists, accuracy is good but depends how long you keep the watch on your wrist daily. The ticking is silent, and you can see that is that the mineral glass is resistant to scratches. Very confortable for wearing all day long. I strongly recommend this watch considering that you can also swim with It, the crown is done specifically for it. Good job like always, ORIENT!

Hermoso y la verdad su desempeño, la resistencia al agua de 200 metros, el bisel perfecto, el lumen también y el precio excelente. Lo mejor es la gran variedad de colores, le puse una correa azul y viene perfecto con jeans!!
