I needed a serious brace for my third-degree inversion sprain
Three years ago I earned myself a third degree inversion sprain while jogging in a forest in NW Ontario. That was one of the worst days of my life. 10 months of therapy later I have come to the realization that I will never have a fully-healed left foot again. I will likely never run a marathon again but over the past year and a half I have begun running 5ks a few times a week and 10ks every once in a while. It has been three years since the initial injury and three weeks ago I made the decision to hit the hardwood again for some pick-up basketball. Ten minutes in...sprained left ankle.I should have known better. But at least now I realize the magnitude of the life-long ankle injury. I purchased four ankle braces after my recent minor sprain. This Venom ankle brace is my favorite of the four. It is cumbersome to put on, at least in relation to the other 3, but it is stronger and holds my foot/ankle in place quite well. It is not as good as the walking air cast but that is relegated to major injuries and not Friday pick-up games of basketball on campus. This brace is up to the task of being hardcore without limiting my abilities to play ball.So some minor facts that may assist you in your purchasing decision:1. I wear a size 11.5. This fits very well. I can see it fitting a size 10 perhaps, but anything much less and this may be too large. The side straps will come up too high and rub against your skin. Not good for long days of wearing this...2. I can wear this comfortably for 10 hours at work. I have been doing this for the past 2+ weeks. The comfort level is quite high.3. I can wear this within the shoe. But not just any shoe. I need it to be a boot and/or slightly larger shoe. I cannot wear this with my dress shoes.4. This seems high quality. I like the plastic portions and quality feel. With that said, this is likely not intended for minor sprains. I mean, you could wear this with minor sprains, but there are more comfortable and smaller options out there. This is for the medium level sprains and dudes with a left ankle like mine - darn near useless without something heavy duty.At the end of the day, I mostly recommend this for individuals who want the most intense brace without moving to a walking cast or other cast of some sort. I really like this. For me this is perfect! But that is due to the size fitting nicely and me needing something on the high end of sturdy.

Great price, excellent product
I never write reviews but I figured maybe writing this could help someone in saving money. If you're like I was while researching various ankle braces, you are wondering if it's any good based on the low price. I debated whether to try the Venom ankle brace, or go with the more expensive, major brand braces. Take a chance on this and you won't be disappointed. In Dec 2017, I fell dislocating my ankle as well as breaking both my tibula and fibula. I required surgery and had the pleasure of receiving a plate and seven screws inserted. I am to the point in my healing where my doctor wanted me to buy a pair of quality high top sneakers or similar shoes to wear. Well I hate high tops and I have plenty of quality sneakers so I didn't want to waste money on something I absolutely hate. I decided to try using a good ankle brace with the sneakers I have. I saw this and decided to give it a try based on the positive reviews. I am glad I did because it is perfect for my needs. It provides the right amount of support while allowing me to wear it with my sneakers. I feel secure wearing it and it's comfortable. I also love how the company emails you to see if it fits properly. If not, they said they will replace it with a better fitting one. If you're on the fence, go ahead and get it!

Awesome and sent a free replacement when it didn’t fit!
Love this product, I needed to be able to go back to work with regular shoes on after a torn ligament from a severely rolled ankle. It’s awesome, at first when you put it on it won’t feel super supportive if you’ve been wearing a boot, but play with the laces and straps and once it’s tight enough to feel supportive without cutting off circulation it’s perfect. I saw reviews that it tears up your shoes but so far mine are ok, obviously the sides are a little stretched out and the laces have to be tied shorter but it seems like it will go back to normal after I can walk brace free again for a while. As you can see in the pictures I have to unlace the top two holes to get it off and on but it really isn’t that much of a hassle.

Beyond expected
Great product!!! I'm still suffering from a severe high ankle sprain i sustained the day after Xmas and this brace is providing much needed support. I noticed a difference as soon as I put it on. I wasn't a fan of the laces at first but realize their importance, and I've gotten over it.I had an issue with sizing and the company is going above and beyond to help me out! A definite 5 stars for customer service as well.

i turned into a believer
I'm not sure if 1st post went through, but it was not a good one!! 1 star. When I first got the brace I did not like it all. I'm 41y/o 6' 230 guy, broke my ankle 2x and sprained it countless time, weak ankles. i recently tore 2 tendons in my ankle and was laid up for last 3 months. I hated this thing, seemed cheap, uncomfortable and just worthless. I was forced into using it to play softball this weekend. still cant run, but played catcher n batted. I was actually really impressed with the brace and the support. with the 2 straps it's more like a taped ankle. Could use a little work on the padding under the laces, but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Plastic side could be a little stronger. If you need support for athletics I would actually highly recommend it. Support and movement with it on give great mental support you ankle isn't going to roll. probably get another for other ankle
