KA-BAR Full Size US Marine Corps Fighting Knife, Straight

Arrived on time, in a legit Ka-Bar package. Brutally sharp- 100% not a knock-off. Blade is strong as hell, great balance in the hand. Secure, not slippery. The leather sheath DOES snap around the handle fine, didn't experience a problem there. I purchased the kydex sheath and neetsfoot oil to go along with it,

I carried one for 6 years as a Marine from 1970 - 76.Extremely strong and durable. Perfect for cutting Comm wire. Opening C ration or ammo packages. This hard use quickly dulls any knife no matter how good. Pair this knife with KA-BAR's excellent portable sharpener (see picture) which I wish I had years ago. This knife has USMC stamped on the hilt with a beautiful brown non-slip handle. A heavy duty sheath accompanies the blade, also stamped with KA-BAR at tbe top, a Marine EGA, with USMC embossed below. Holds an excellent edge, quickly restored with their sharpener (purchased separately).

I should have added gift wrap option just for the extra excitement. Once I opened the box my jaw hit the floor and my eyes started tearing up. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen next to my fiance.Now down to business. Knife came razor sharp out of the box with a fine point tip(I dropped the knife and the point grazed my shin and the point poked my shin right thru my jeans and sliced my shin and blood streamed down, I couldn't believe how sharp it was). I also shaved a patch of arm hair off with a single stroke. The coating on the blade is amazing no blemishes at all, feels smooth to the touch and you can tell this blade will last for years to come with no rusting. The USMC stamp is great. I feel honored to be using a knife that some of the greatest warriors on gods geeen earth made famous. Leather washer handle fits my hand great and feels good too. Even though I live in the Greater NW and the Kraton handle would probably have been more practicable for wet weather climates, I just had to stick with the Original handle. I feel that this will last years to come if taken care of properly.The sheath is great also. Even though it was made in Mexico it is still extremely sturdy, and great stitching. The leather is a lot thicker then I anticipated. The Marine logo is nicely stamped in the leather and once again I feel proud to wear it. Overall the sheath is really nice and sturdy. I cant get over how thick the leather is. The leather is a little stiff so I applied a couple applications of Saddle Soap and boy did it make all the difference. The sheath is super soft and it also helped remove/hide some of the creases in the leather, and it also brought out a nice dark brown hue in the leather.Overall I give this five stars and would recommend this to anyone who needs a sturdy fixed blade fighting/survival knife, it will last you a life time if used/stored properly. I feel like a total BA just holding this knife. I also plan on buying one for my Marine Brother-in-law with the Operation Iraqi Freedom commemorative for Veterans Day. The prices Amazon has makes it affordable to give as a gift or to just buy one or two or even three just to have. I will also be purchasing the Ka-Bar Short USMC Fighting Knife with the Tanto Tip. I can't wait to pass this knife down to my Son when he comes of age and then see him pass it to my Grandson when he comes of age. What is also nice is you can have the blade engraved without ruining the blade or finish. This is going to make a great family heirloom for years to come. Thank you Ka-Bar and Amazon!!!

REAL REVIEWER NOT ROBOT UGHHHHHHThis blade is badass. Comfortable grip. Simplistic design. There’s a reason this knife has been the cornerstone of our military for over 80 years. It’s like the M1911 of knives. It’s flawless. A relic that could be passed down to your kids and their kids if you take care of it. Also exceptionally sharp out of the box. No regrets. Worth every penny.

A sturdy knife for my small collection, beautiful design, but big. Of course I knew this. I find another brand I own to fit in my small hand better with a more comfortable hilt, but this is a beautiful knife to display and keep handy but like all of the very small number of knives I have, one I hope I never have to use. I’m female so camping and other purposes are why I own a few carefully chosen knives.This one is very sharp and I find the blade shape attractive, the handle better for bigger hands, not a very heavy knife, it’s about right in my opinion.The sheath would be cumbersome to wear with a belt for someone of my stature so I do not plan to wear this one, keeping it at home/car.
