Lamy does a great job with balancing their writing instruments. It feels good to write & draw with -- and it looks sleek and stylish.

I have a Mont blanc starwalker pencil but with use it started showing signs of wear and tear (On plating). That's when i decided to purchase a pencil that will withstand regular long term use. The Lamy mechanical pencil is completely made out of solid Stainless steel. The design is very rugged and perfect that, looks like this will last for multiple lifetimes. Pros - SS body. No possibility of damage if handled carefully. - Nice weight - perfect weight. - 0.7 MM can be used for drawing as well as writing - Simple openable design to clean and care. Con - Slightly slippery - Due to metal construction becomes very cold to hand. In all I am very happy about this Lamy and has already become my pencil of choice.

First of all, as the other reviews mentioned this pencil (just likes its fountain pen counterpart) feels extremely nice in the hand and has great balance. The makrolon material that this is made of feels like wood and does not scratch at all. You could drop this pencil and it would still function properly. Two problems I had with this pencil: 1) The top of the pencil (the part you push to advance the lead) felt loose and rattled around as I was writing. This disturbed me so much that I took advantage of Amazon's amazing replacement policy and got it replaced. I'm now awaiting the new one. 2) The clip is wobbly as well. You can move it around quite easily with your finger. This is not as noticeable as the previous problem but still mention-worthy. However, don't let these downfalls deter you from a purchase! This pencil is well worth the price and will probably outlast all your other pencils / pens.

I used to have it few years ago. Its the most balanced pencil I've ever had, and I got to try a few. The weight is just right, the lead doesn't break, good eraser the feel of the makrolon is the best. The whole 2000 series is awesome but the roller and pencil are the best.

Do not buy this nor any Lamy product until they change their customer service. I purchased a Lamy 2000 mechanical pencil from Amazon. A few weeks after the "return" deadline from Amazon, I needed to refill and clean the tip. I've been unable to get the pencil to work again. One fillup of lead is all this pencil is good for. Junk! When I attempted to correspond with Amazon about this, the website told me I needed to deal directly with Lamy. I went to the Lamy website and found that, in order to communicate with them, I would need to agree to a "privacy agreement." Now, I'm a lawyer and also very concerned about not being on marketing lists. I'd have to agree to being on one if I wanted to communicate with Lamy. My email address could be sold and resold and resold. The product is junk and their policies are harmful to customers. Do not buy a Lamy product until their customer service becomes just that and not a gimmick to expand their email, marketing sales business.

Looks great and feels good. The eraser is pretty tiny, and it's very light. My preference would be for the same shape and size, larger eraser and with heavier materials.

Completes my Lamy 2000 trio - fountain pen, gel pen, and now mechanical pencil. Slimmer than the other two and that's expected. Pencil tip is close to the point much like the nib on the fountain pen. Once you get use to the FP, this is much like it and shouldn't be an issue. Most of my mechanical pencils have a longer tip where the lead shows up so it was an adjustment of angle to the media. There's a wire inserted in the eraser for cleaning the lead channel much like in the old days. Lead size is noted on the top of the pusher. Feels good in hand and should allow lengthy writing sessions.

Looks and comfort-wise this is the best pencil available if you like the Lamy style. Two flaws are the usual tiny eraser and the unsually long amount of lead fed per click. One isn't enough and two is too long. It's alright with the 0.7mm but the 2 click length of 0.5mm is going to break off too easily.

Como todo o casi todo lo Lamy, un producto maravilloso. Como lapicero es estupendo, es ligero y va muy bien de mecánica. Para colmo es bonito. Así que qué más.

I am a bit of a Lamy fan so I guess there is a degree of bias in my expectations. It performs as expected - and by expected I mean to the usual super high quality I expect form the Lamy brand. Smooth pencil clicking and a really nicely weighted pencil in my hand. I have been using Lamy product since I was really young (a long time btw) and they still make exceptional products. It is expensive for a pencil, but to me it is worth every cent as I know I will be using it for a lifetime.
