These ice mats from thermos work much better then those standard brick ice packs because they can wrap around the items you need to be cooled. Especially for awkwardly shaped items, sometimes only one side of the food touches the ice but the other side melts - but you dont have this problem with this product since it touches all sides of your food.At a little over two dollars, this product is a great deal and much cheaper then comparable "flexible ice mat" type products. It even has a silver lining on one side to help insulate, but make sure your food touches the actual "cold" side which is the blue side.This 18 cube mat is probably better suited for a larger cooler or very large lunchbox. I think it would be too big for a regular child's lunchbox. If you are using it in a large cooler, I would purchase several, depending on how you plan to shape the ice packs. I can also see it being effective for a variety of uses including using as a medical ice pack for your body because of the flexibility. To me, it feels cooler to the touch then real ice, like ice packs usually do.I use these to wrap frozen chocolate bananas and various snacks in. Before when I used regular ice packs, only one side would touch, and everything would still melt. With this ice mat, I no longer have that problem. After using this product ill never go back to the brick ever again!Note: another reviewer complained he received only a 9 cube mat. I got the correct 18 cube mat as shown here. Not sure what the deal was with that. But at its cheap price, its worth having various sizes for different applications anyway. Im not sure, but if you are careful you might be able to cut in between the cubes and make a smaller mat.

Really like this. I'm going to get another one. Such value for the money and easy to use. It stayed frozen for a very long time and makes so much sense with it being able to bend whichever way I need it to.

I use it at night to keep my sons formula cold in a insulated backpack , and it works perfectly. The ice mat stays frozen for a long time, ensuring the formula stays fresh until morning. It's compact and fits easily in his bag. I highly recommend this ice mat for anyone needing to keep items cool on the go!

These ice sheets stay cold for a long time so great for shopping, but they do drip a lot when I wrap them around my legs for 60 minutes for recovery from exercise. I have to put a towel down but they are still cold! Worth it as it takes away the ache.

Great product

The media could not be loaded. I had been waiting to purchase this for my mini cooler. The plastic around the liquid is not that durable. I tried to adjust the size and the plastic broke and leaked water. If you’re just laying flat, it might last longer but I’m satisfied.

Bought 2 of them because both my husband and son take the igloo type larger lunchboxes to work each day. They fit perfectly, 2 rows line the bottom and then I fold up both of the sides, so it keeps everything nice and cool all day for them. They haven't leaked yet either and fold nice for refreezer in my freezer.

Several years ago, quality of this product was good and it did not leak water. Most recently, the mats are leaking as delivered, and the manufacturer has started filling the mats with scented water that I really hate the smell of.Thermos, fix your stuff. The product has become garbage.
