First Floatie Swim Vest Life Jacket with Detachable Soft Fabric Arm Floaties and Travel Bag

My son outgrew the puddle jumpers before he turned 4. We have been searching for something to replace it for over a year! You can't learn to swim in a bulky life jacket. Not to mention that to get one rated for his weight (60 lbs) almost comes up over his head in the water. Then we ran across this floatie on amazon. I figured it would not fit but thought we would give it a try since amazon has such easy returns. First of all let me say I LOVE this thing! Not only does it fit my 60 lb, 6 year old but he has room to grow! I also like that he can move around fine with it on so should work perfect for learning to swim. GREAT quality too, definitely not cheaply made! We have not tried it in the water yet but plan to this weekend. My son said the only thing he would change is it saying First Floatie, "But I can't wear it! Because it is not my first floatie, mommy." "Can we just get a plain one? Or one with characters?" Lol! I can not stress enough how excited and impressed I am about this purchase!!!

We ordered this float as a replacement for our puddle jumper that was lost last summer during vacation. This fits my 4 year old great and allows him to move and practice some skills while feeling comfortable and supported in the water. We are going on a snorkeling trip this summer and wanted something that was less restricting than a typical life jacket so he could relax and enjoy himself. We have been practicing in the pool a few times a week with his doji floatie and full face snorkel and it is great! I love that you can deflate the arm floats and fold the float into a very convenient and compact size for packing! It is very lightweight and won't take up much room in a suitcase. Highly suggest for your younger kiddos on the brink of becoming independent swimmers, but still looking for some support and added safety.

Overall, quality fabric and durable make! The heavy fabric over the inflatable center seems sturdy as others that are uncovered have popped on us multiple times. The chest part is adjustable and fits great on its own. The arm floaties are the only part that could use some improvement. They need a third side to blow up so that they can stay on a kid’s arm independently of the chest part as that is why I bought this particular product, so as he doesn’t need the chest part, he can use the arm parts solo, however due to the openness inside the holes, they fall right off if they are used alone. Also, the straps to connect to the chest need more room to adjust. I have them cinched all the way and they still allow the arm floaties to slide to elbow/forearm when he’s playing so I’m constantly adjusting. Great product, but could use some tweaking

Let me start with a little background. My daughter has used the Vest/Puddle Jumper Kids Jacket since she was like 3 year old, and they were great until she outgrew them and they didn't fit. I looked everywhere for a new vest, but not those bulky ones that you have when you're on a cruise or simple as just the arm floaties.Since I didn't find any, I adapted a new buckle to the one she had (not recommended for safety) and still it was very tight but she didn't want to stop using it.Fast forward to this week, I finally found this product and based on some reviews it looked like it was bigger than the most common ones of the same type, which gave me hope.When it arrived i quickly tried it on my daughter and it fit perfectly. She even have quite some strap left for when she grows more.For reference my daughter is 7 and she uses 7/8 clothes and this was a perfect fit.I saw some reviews that showed how the material caused some rash, but we already tried it for a day and it was just perfect. She floated on a 5' pool with no problem.I highly recommend this product to those parents that are looking a floatie of this type for bigger kids that won't fit anymore on those common ones.

Extremely happy with the quality of this floatie for the price. We bought this for a recent trip knowing we were staying at a hotel with a pool. It folded up nice and small in the travel bag so that it didn't chew up too much space in our bags. The fabric and construction seem high quality and fits our 2.5 year old, 25 pound daughter well even though she is on the smaller side for children her age. She also loved the purple color which was an added bonus.When inflating make sure you bite down gently to apply pressure to the nipple. This opens the airway so you can inflate quickly and not lose air when you stop blowing. If you just try to blow into it like a beach ball you will be there all day. Ensures the floatie will be fully inflated each time which give me extra piece of mind.

I really wanted to like this and replace my son's puddle jumper, and we did for about 25 uses or so. At first it was perfect, worked great for my tall 3 1/2 year old and he definitely had room to grow (which we were hoping for). However, towards the end of the summer, the middle piece broke in half and it will not stay on him like it's supposed to. We were hoping we were going to get at least another year out of it, but I will have to trash it. For the price I expected more use out of it.

My daughter is almost 6 and growing fast. She does not fit the puddle jumpers and more and the kid life vests we had were to small. I searched all over for a safety vest for her and could not find one. I get that the kids should be learning to swim now but I am still not going to let me daughter swim in our pool with out having an extra safety. She cannot touch the bottom yet so I want her safe. That being said....I love this swim vest! It is light and I LOVE that we can remove the arm bands or she can swim without the arm bands and use the chest support. And it is all adjustable so that if it is all together they are not restricted in arm movement like the puddle jumpers. And thank goodness there is no crotch strap that cuts into her.I will post pictures to show this later.Thank you for this great product. I will also write an update at the end of the swim season.
