A few week review here for anyone interested.
I got the Pet Loader® Light 16" Platform, 4-Step for 245.95 taxes added 18.75.I bought this July 25th, 2022. I did a ton of research before deciding on this product. I saw all the other similar products on Amazon with all the fake reviews and horribly photoshopped pictures. Yes, they are cheaper but the build quality and the few real reviews were a turnoff. This device I decided on because its made in the US and it looks durable as well as wider so it does not scare my dog. This company has also put a few youtube videos up showing exactly how it works. The main device is a strong plastic with some carpet on the top for their paws. The sides are metal which you lock into place to stabilize the stairs. You can lay it out longer so they have shorter steps or you can do it shorter so so they have a bit higher to step but its easy to modify depending on where you are and how much space you have.I own a highlander and my dog just can't jump in the back anymore like he use to. He just hit that age that does not allow him to. It broke my heart but I wanted to still take him everywhere so I searched and found this. I decided to buy it even with a price tag that is hefty compared to the competition but build quality is super important to me and the wider stairs makes my dog comfier with the situation. When it arrived it was already put together. The 4 stairs is perfect for getting in the back of my highlander. I don't know why anyone would need one that goes higher unless its a raised truck. I did read in a few reviews if you want to extend it they company can sell you extra stairs and directions on how to attach it to make it bigger seems easy enough and one of the reviewers said it was easy as pie.My dog at first was not sure how to go up it, but I kinda guided him with his leash and he figured it out. He has absolutely no problems going up it even when he is super tired after a long walk or swim. This thing is a blessing and honestly, if it makes my guy happy and life better for him its worth it. It is well made and setting it up takes less than 10 minutes. It is pretty lightweight and has handles that make it easy.Overall 10/10 great build, easy to set up, light, and it made my dog's life a lot easier.

Much better than a ramp
We've been the ramp route before with our 8-year old border collie mix - no luck. She's skittish of most new things, including these steps. Treats didn't work; neither did having her sister, who's not quite so skittish, demonstrate the steps for her. Finally got my wife in the drivers seat and Suzy on her leash went right up like an old pro. No problem since then. She was used to our front porch steps so maybe that helped also. These steps are not the lightest, but the weight is more than offset by the sturdiness that lighter-weight ramps do not have. The steps are very easy to set up to my truck's step. I got the 4-step unit thinking I would put the top step directly on the seat. When Suzy balked at that I fairly easily removed the top step to make it a three-step which works for Suzy and makes it lighter also. The top step is now in storage, just in case. We're very pleased with these steps and would recommend them to anyone looking for sturdiness and ease of use. They are not the least expensive, but certainly among the best.

Great product but not suitable for my elderly dog
Let me start by saying this is an awesome, well made product.I purchased this for my elderly 85 lb dog so he could get on my tall bed. His back end is not very strong. He struggled to get up the stairs. I think if they were wider and a little less steep it would have helped.I’m not returning them though. I will use this product with future dogs & train them when they are young /strong.I’ve uploaded a pic of my current makeshift solution- if you find yourself in this situation, maybe it will help you. It is a cedar chest and a high bench, the steps are wide enough & long enough & incline isn’t too steep. The bench is on top of a yoga mat do it doesn’t move. There are non skid bath mats on the bench & trunk. It isn’t pretty, but he is able to get up without a struggle/safely. He’s been using the cedar chest as a step since he was younger (when I had a lower bed), so he has “muscle memory” and enough strength in his front end to get himself up. I added the bench because it was too high to jump from the cedar chest to the tall bed.

Super lightweight and Sturdy!
Ok so, I'm giving petloader 5 stars bc it's awesome, unfortunately my 13 yo lab wanted nothing to do with it. I tried everything from treats to crawling up and down myself. He was not interested. However, my 2 yo golden was all about it. So object here imo, is buy one while the dog is still young and not a grumpy, set in his ways, old man!!!For humans, it's so easy to use. Literally pull out the steps and lay the top on your vehicle. It held my 130lbs easily too. Very sturdy!
