With some work, this is a great product!
I was very wary of purchasing a USB hub because there are so many of them on the market, and a lot have bad reviews to go with them. But at the time I desperately needed additional USB 3.0 ports for the ASUS G73 that I was using as a main computer at the time. So after many hours of research and reading other peoples reviews, I choice this hub.The package arrived quickly and without damage. It was a great price for what you're getting, 9 ports for $35 is nice. The Hub was very easy to set up and get going.I've seen that many people report that it doesn't work, but I think that people aren't patient enough with this product. Plug it into a USB 3.0 port on your computer or laptop, make sure it's plugged into the wall, and double check that the drivers were installed correctly. With the ASUS G73 laptop (running Windows 7) I did have some minor issues in the beginning. The product would disconnect even though it was plugged in, which would prompt me to either unplug and plug the USB cable back in, or check the drivers. After some frustration with the drivers not wanting to uninstall and reinstall smoothly, I finally got everything plugged in and drivers working. (This is why I have to deduct a star.) I never ran into a single issue after that with the ASUS G73.After a while I finally built my own PC (built with an ASUS Z97-E motherboard, and running Windows 7), and the HUB came along with it since my case sits on the floor under my desk. There hasn't been a single issue with the Hub since I moved to my new PC.I love this hub because of all of the extra ports and the "foot" that you can screw into the wall, or adhere to your desk. That feature alone is amazing because I can place it where I need to so that wires can be kept out of the way of my mouse and keyboard. The only complaint I have is that I can hear a buzzing while I have my headphones plugged into the USB 3.0 and using one of the 2 quick charging USB slots to charge my phone or iPad.

Nice powered USB3 hub with handy port disable
Was hoping to get my document scanner on USB3 with this, but alas that failed, which isn't this device's fault. Rearranged connections and it's all working best it can. Particlarly like the buttons to turn each port on/off dynamically, as I don't have to unplug a device to do a "pull and plug" to reset the connection. This is particularly useful on Linux where the system actually provides detail on what's happening with a USB device is plugged in, and sadly where less USB devices are supported so one does have to avail themselves of that information to get it working. Also wanted a powered hub to drive the external DVD, offloading that from the system. Otherwise it's a USB3 hub ... plug it in to the system, plug stuff into it, make sure the port is on. Done.

Actually not junk, slick blue LEDs for your blue themed desk. No speaker.
This is actually a pretty solid deal. I've worked in IT for over 30 years but never needed to buy a USB hub. This one is good. I like the on/off buttons which also have blue LEDs so you know if a port is on or off. That could be useful to reset flakey things like mice that might not work right after a reboot. It's rare, but it happens sometimes.

One dead port drove me crazy - Solved
This is my third hub. I bought it because the first two did what I needed. I couldn’t figure out why my iPad wasn’t charging. I tried multiple known good cables with no joy. Finally, I took the known good cable attached to my iPad and tested all 16 ports. The number 3 port was dead (and, yes, I made sure the mule light was on).UPDATE 7/17/2028: After contacting customer service, a replacement hub is being shipped to me, and I don't have to have the hassle of returning the defective one. I upgraded to 5 stars for good customer support and a good product.Unfortunately, I didn’t do my test until the return window was closed. Since the other 15 ports are working - for now - I guess I’m stuck using it.

Helped me use mutliple Wii instruments off of one Wii usb port. Very happy!
Works amazingly. Used it to extend the first usb port of my Wii. Now I can use the microphone, guitar, and drums from one port for Rockband. Couldn't be happier with this!
