Works okay.
It isn't for long hair. Works well but doesn't fit well if you have long hair.

Not what I was looking for
I thought this would be a good fit to help keep water out. It fit type but not at all water resistance.

Ouchless for kids
This lycra swim cap works great for my two daughters during swim lessons. We use the caps to keep long, thick, straight hair out of my six year old's eyes and long thick curly hair out of my three year old's eyes. I've found it quickest to get their caps on by putting their hair in pony tails first, but the Lycra is stretchy enough to tuck in their loose hair as well without any pain.Unlike other reviewers who were surprised, I understood Lycra (also known as spandex, see "Lycra" on Wikipedia) would not keep their hair dry. The product description says "not waterproof" but the sellers could have easily added that text more recently. Also, to be fair to those who were surprised about hair getting wet, the product name, at least as of the date of this writing, is "Lycra Bathing Cap." If I were not already familiar with the permeability of Lycra, "bathing cap" would also lead me to believe it was waterproof. It is better described as a "swim" cap.Any swim cap material I encountered other than lycra seems like it would keep hair dry but also causes the kids pain--either because the cap material was too tight on their heads (even adult sizes) or it pulled their hair.I was not at all concerned about their hair getting wet. My main goals were no pain for the kids, ease of putting on, and effectiveness in keeping their long hair out of their eyes. I give this cap five stars on each of these three criteria. The caps are large enough for my adult head, but I have a buzz cut and have no need to keep hair out of my eyes in the pool. I don't know how well the cap would fit on an adult with long or thick hair.

Mala compra
La culpa fue mia no haber leido que no era de latex, los necesitaba para no mojarme el pelo, pero, con esto es peor el asunto.

Comfortable cap for long periods of use
I use Lycra caps for swim practice, as I find that the latex ones pull my hair, and the silicone ones, though preferable to latex, still hold in sweat and make me itchy. For long periods of time, the Lycra cap is the most comfortable. The downside to the Lycra cap is that it wears out relatively quickly, and, like a worn-out swimsuit, stretches and loses its elasticity. However, this in itself can be a benefit. I have very long hair, and the cap is at its best fit for me when it is no longer brand new. I imagine that those with less hair would not stretch the cap out as much, prompting a similarly good fit.The Lycra cap can also be embroidered and/or decorated with fabric paints. This is an easy way to create a custom swim cap. Once, I stitched craft foam ears to a Lycra cap for a swim team spirit activity. The ears held, but were easily removed later.I have been buying a lime green Lycra cap around twice a year for the past several years. This seems like a lot of caps, but I believe that it is worth it, considering I swim year-round. If you want a comfortable cap for non-competitive swimming (like practices), then I wholeheartedly recommend this product. If you are looking for a racing cap, you probably want something else. It is not that this is a bad product, it is simply not a racing cap.If you are not sure, buy the cap. It is worth a try; I certainly didn't think a cloth cap sounded like a good idea. How wrong I was!

Falls off
Fell off my head while swimming almost immediately, even with goggles over it.

Inadequate hair coverage
Lycra swim cap: Lycra is fabric so water flows right through it. It keeps your head cooler than a silicone cap--which is why I buy this kind. However, I can't recommend this brand. It comes in lots of pretty colors, which is good, but I find the cap too small. I have a narrow face and a smallish head, so I was surprised it didn't fit me better. The description of the cap says it doesn't cover the ears, which is true. It also doesn't cover the hair near your temples. If you wear goggles with an elastic strap (basically any type of swimming goggles), the strap will get caught in the hair next to your face and will likely cause tearing-out of your hair when you adjust or remove the goggles. I recommend the Tyr brand of Lycra swimming cap. It's not much more expensive and comes in fewer colors, but it will protect your hair better from the goggle strap.

Does the job
I have a big Irish head, which means that when something like a sweatband or a swimming cap is too tight, my head hurts big, too. For some reason, things that are tight on my ears give me a headache in a fairly short amount of time. Having tried latex caps and found them too tight to swim for a solid hour, I decided to swim without a cap, but it didn't take long to realize that hair in front of my goggles was nearly as irritating as a headache. I decided to try a lycra cap, and I've been pleased with the result. If you're considering this cap, remember that it does not keep your hair dry. It does, however, keep it out of your eyes. Although it isn't waterproof, it also keeps water from gushing into whichever ear(s) you tilt upward when you're doing the classic crawl stroke. I'm pleased with this purchase because of the lycra's ability to stretch comfortably over my head and its functions of keeping my hair out of my eyes and water out of my left ear.
