This book is a treat and I actually like it better than the more widely known "Dear Zoo" by the same author. Each of the presents is hidden behind a flap which is designed to look like the wrapping of that present. The child reader is encouraged to guess what's inside the parcel before opening the flap to see. The pictures are clear and colourful and the whole layout is very attractive. The book is well made, too, so that the flaps retain their effectiveness despite a fair bit of use. I used the book in a Special Needs class as a sensory story and the children loved it.

This was the perfect book for her birthday.
