Inexpensive and works great!
I bought this iron for my adult son. I picked the Proctor Silex brand because the iron I have used for almost 30 years is that brand (full disclosure: it does not get used too often but still works great!). Also, it is very inexpensive! Before I gave it to him, I tried it out to make sure it worked. It heated up nicely. It took me a couple of seconds to figure out where to add the water. On my old iron, there is a whole on top where you pour the water into when the iron is standing up. On this iron, you must put it in the ironing position to fill it. There's a small, rubber cap that you just unplug, fill, and then replace cap. It steamed very well! The mister worked well, too. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but I prefer it that way. I hate reading instructions. As stated before, I don't use irons very much, but this iron did what I expected it to do. I am very satisfied with the performance and would recommend it.

Best Iron ever!
Warms up quickly, is lightweight and love the automatic shutoff and the swivel cable protector. Best iron ever!!

Nice and light and heats up quickly.
As I ironed my jeans the iron did not seem to stay hot enough. However because the iron is on the smaller side maybe it was just not able to keep up with heat demand. Although to be fair, I was able to get the desired finish given enough time. The temperature control knob is directly under the irons handle and I found I would often change the heat setting with my fingertips then would have to readjust temp. The fit and finish is good, but time will tell if it will be durable. The iron is nice and light easy to get into tight areas. I was happy how quickly the iron would heated up. Over all I'm happy with this Proctor Silex iron

Great! I purchased a second one.
It is light and very easy to use. Manual dial without the bells & whistles that complicate what should be a simple task (ironing). It does have automatic shutoff which is a desirable feature. It draws 1200 watts which is plenty for any ironing task but will not trip breakers or overload electrical circuits. The ceramic soleplate is working well and appears to be durable, although I have only used it for 3 months. I use the steam features for all of my ironing and I have zero complaints. I recommend this iron without hesitation!

Be careful with the settings
I like that I can iron with steam. On other settings it starts to leak water.

Light in weight but great at work.
Very good iron. I bought it to avoid tripping a breaker and found that despite it being light weight it does a great job.

Don't waste your money.
First purchased this in April 2020, it began leaking and stopped heating within a few weeks. Amazon sent a replacement, I have used it max two dozen times sine May. Today (December ) it stopped heating. I plugged in and turned it on, nothing. I have tried reset instructions from various websites, nothing. It's a bad product.I did not use the steam function in the replacement, so it has never had water in it. I do not keep it plugged in, so it isn't a reset issue. It's just a bad product. Spend a few more $ and get something reliable.

Good value for the price
Like the weight of the iron and the steam function. Wish the on off button was easier to reach. If you have problems with your hands (arthritis), you should probably look for a different iron.

Very light
This is my second proctor & silex and they are very light and this one stays on for an hour then shuts off automatically which is good for me. I can work in my sewing room and not have to worry about turning it back on every 7 minutes. At the end of the day I know it is off.

Nothing wrong with this one.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this product. Heats up quickly and the steam function works fantastically. An inexpensive but quality product. Recommend.

Water reservoir is too small
The water reservoir is too small so I end up having to fill it almost every time I iron. Yes it is last lightweight and yes it has auto shut off but that’s where the good points end.

An iron that does what it’s supposed to do.
Well, I had wrinkly clothes... then I bought this... and, well, now my clothes don’t have the wrinkles. Hurray!
