Perfect Book for Learning about Animals
National Geographic makes many quality products, and this one is no different. My 10 year old daughter, who is fascinated by animals and science, sat down with this book the minute that she got it and read every page over the course of a couple of days. She shared many of the pictures with me, and I found them absolutely beautiful. My daughter said that the pictures really made her understand the information and see the animals clearly. This was a great book not only for my daughter, but for us as a family to read and enjoy together. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a child interested in animals and for anyone who wants to encourage and engage young minds!

great kid's book
My grandchildren love these almanacs.. lots of interesting and cool facts presented in a way that keeps kids reading.... lots of great pictures and also short pieces to read... not like picking up a novel and reading from cover to cover... a book that kids can pick up at anytime and just turn to a page and read something that they find interesting...

Amazing book!
AMAZING!!! I have a 10 year old girl and she loves this book. It is full of information. There are cool events for the year in the beginning of the book where it tells you when Earth Day is and things like that. Then you have animals...tons and tons of animals, science, space, technology and on and on and on. There is so much information packed into this book. It is 350 pages of information that kids love to read and learn or at least mine does. I even like flipping through the book. It also has maps of the earth and of the continents with facts on each page. Then it has flags of every country with different facts about every country. Maps of the states with state facts. Every president is listed.... There is just so much information!!

Fun book for all ages!
My 12 year old who is interested in all kinds of trivia LOVES this book. He first bought this book 3-4 years ago and got the latest version 2016 which published in 2015. I wasn't sure whether if I should buy this version but glad that I did because the contents are all NEW (every year I assume).Lots of beautiful color pictures and all kinds of trivia. He can read this book over and over. We have subscribed national geographic magazine for kids but it was a total waste. This book is not. I highly recommend this book to anyone who have kids of all ages.

Wealth Of Information For Kids And Grown-Ups!
My 8 year-old son loved, loved the 2014, 2015 edition, so of course, I had to get the 2016 edition. From a kid's point of view, he said the photographs make the facts seem more interesting. From an adult point of view, I totally agree. There's just so many interesting stuff in the almanac. There's information on big cats, demolition, planets, Houdini, presidents, maps, and even planting a butterfly garden. There's a very detailed index in the back. I can see this book as a good source of school project ideas and reference when he heads to third grade next year. From our experience, even when my son was too young to read, he liked looking at the pictures and asked all kinds of questions. My son highly recommends this book to other kids and so do I!

fun resource for kids
My kids love these books. They spend so much time reading them over and over, getting the facts down and sharing them with us.The kids did complain that it had "A lot of the same material" as the 2015 version but I told them that would happen as its all based on facts.

All of their parents commented on how much they loved the books
I bought 2015 Almanac last year for two of our grandkids aged 7 & 9. All of their parents commented on how much they loved the books. The parents were even enjoying them. The books have eye-catching graphics, illustrating fun facts that appeal to kids of all ages. I hope they continue to print these because I will be buying them each year.
