Great for the Price!
I picked up these pups to put in an Epi Les Paul I have that has been collecting dust. The last few years I've mainly been playing "nu" metal, metalcore, and heavy music on my active pickup guitars. As I'm getting a bit older, and now 10 years into playing guitar I decided to revisit my roots. I picked these up to play some Blues and Classic rock. I added new pots, new wiring, a new input jack, and kept the original switch. The neck pickup is perfect using the separate volume controls of the Les Paul I can use it for good clean tones. Or I can use it to get that bluesy solo tone used by musicians like Slash, etc. The bridge pickup works pretty well for blues, classic rock, and even some old style metal. Examples of metal tones I could get out of them were like Dio, Ozzy(Randy Rhoads), Black Label Society, and even closer to Pantera with the right amp setup. Most reviews online say not to use these pickups for metal so I figured I'd tell my experience on the matter. My only complaint is the bridge pickup doesn't seem much hotter than the neck, but for the price I wasn't expecting it to be. They are essentially the same pickup just the bridge is a hair hotter. They are labeled and come nicely packaged. Very impressed so far, I find myself picking this Guitar up a lot now. The bridge pickup doesn't seem as loud as the old stock pickup, but I am still tweaking the setup and positions a bit. BOTTOM LINE: If you want a nice set of affordable PAF clones and you want that old 50-60s les paul sound this is probably the most affordable way to do it. These are very versatile you can play some softer rock, blues, classic rock, and some 70's 80's metal tones. I imagine If you wanna play hardrock or metal exclusively you definitely want to look at something else.

Huge improvement on my Epiphone Les Paul Standard stock pickups
I bought these pups to replace the stock pickups on my nearly 10-year-old Epiphone Les Paul Standard as they had always sounded too "muddy" for my taste. Admittedly I was a little bit apprehensive toward buying a set of pickups that cost nearly half the amount of money that I could sell my guitar for in its current condition--especially considering I had no prior soldering experience--but these pickups have done wonders for my tone.I was torn between getting this Seymour Duncan 59 Vintage Blues set or just replacing the bridge pickup with a Gibson 57 Classic humbucker for $150 since I usually play the bridge pickup by itself anyway, but I'm glad I replaced them both. I play the Epiphone on a Fender Blues Jr with a Weber Attenuator and use a Fulltone OCD when I want some serious bluesy overdrive. The soldering process itself was much easier than I anticipated... don't be discouraged by all of the complicated schematics out there online if you are like me and don't ever really mess with the hardware on your guitar. Following alongside Seymour Duncan's guide, you simply desolder the original pickups in the two spots it shows you and then solder the new ones back in those same spots. I thought I had screwed up by leaving way too much solder when I was grounding the 2nd pickup but I haven't noticed any issues with the pickups since installing them a month ago.Overall I'd recommend these pickups to anyone who is unhappy with their stock pickups to play blues, jazz, or any type of rock really besides metal and they're a great upgrade for most Epiphone Les Paul Standard level guitars.

Fantastic Pickups
I've been searching for years to get that deep wood tone of the older LesPauls. Trying everything but the kitchen sink to no avail. Until that is I got these vintage blues. These pickups nail it exactly in my opinion and the tone is still there when you roll off the volume. Just amazing, I'm finding all sorts of nice tones with the pickup/volume/tone adjustments. Love it...

Excellent !!!!!!!
I was having a hard time trying to decide what to replace the " Burstbuckers " with on My Gibson Les Paul. The " Burstbuckers " are way too muddy for My liking. One day at Guitar Center, I played a Used ES-335 with these pickups on it and it was clear which pickups I need for My Les Paul. These pickups have brought back the pure enjoyment of playing a Les Paul again. I'm playing it all most as much as My David Gilmour Strat now. I Highly recommend These Pickups for any Guitarist that Plays Blues and or Rock !!!!!!!! ~Pepper Roberts~

Nice sounding pickups but needed a little modification
Nice set of pickups but the screws provided were too short. I installed them in a Epi Les Paul. They are a 4-40 fine thread screw so I had to tap out to 4-40 NC and put in about 1 1/2" long screws. Otherwise they sound really good.

classic rock
Excellent if your looking for a classic/ vintage rock/blues sound and don't want to spend a ton of money. the value is great- you get 2 pickups that really give you a '59 les paul sound. I changed many things on my epiphone les paul to make it closer to a 59 gibson and these pickups were probably the most important. unbelievably clean tones with the guitar vol. turned down. turn it all the way up to get creamy distortion sounds.I play them through a tube amp only and I'm totally satisfied. If you play led zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ACDC, CCR, GNR, Rolling stones, Pearl jam, The Tragically Hip, the who, ZZ Top, Rock...........You will probably like these.Don't buy them if you're totally heavy metal, super modern, because some of the best sounds from these pickups are because they can play so clean.

Excellent pickups for electric guitars
Excellent pups for electric guitars - I changed the stock pups in my fab Gibson SG with these and I am very happy/satisfied with the improvement in sound - thanks!

Sweet blues PAF
It was either sink money into my Epiphail les Paul or burn it, I hated it. I replaced the garbage pickups with these, and except for the shipping crate wood they use to make those guitars, the tonal quality is 250% better. These aren’t high distortion high output pups but they sound like a late 50’s les Paul should sound (almost....it’s still an epiphone at heart). With lots of sustain and bell like clarity, but still with a nasty side if you crank them (who doesn’t).
