Hi, my daughter ties the ends together like most of the bracelets made from that type of material. She loves the loom, I actually had fun with it too!

Q: Would this make a good gift to a 7 year old?

No, recommend this for ages 10 and up. It's really a pre-teen/teenage thing. I think a 7 year-old would get very frustrated with it. Best to stick with the rainbow loom and rubber bands for now. I had to review the directions a few times myself before getting the hang of it. Hope this helps.

Q: Do the bracelets all have to be made in one length? Is there a way to stop the bracelet once it reaches the perfect length?

You can definitely make the bracelets in different lengths. Check out the videos others have posted on YouTube.

Q: About how much (length) of embroidery thread is needed per bracelet? I realize there are a lot of variables, let's say medium width, regular design?

A thin one will take about 6 yards of thread (3 yards of 3 colors) and a thicker one could take 30 yards (8-10 yards of each color).
