Really great for the price Transformed the boat.
I row a lot. I have a sliding seat shell and sliding seat skiff. These oars were purchased for an aluminum 12 ft rowboat because I was tired of the 6 foot flat blade box store replacement oars that slip and give little purchase on the water. These longer oars transformed the boat. It is much faster rowing at less effort. Keep in mind that with spoon blades you will have to orient the blades and have dedicated port and starboard oars. These are not interchangeable from right to left unless you flip the oar pins over. The oars come in two sections that snap together and they are a little loose in the junction. This makes them a little rattle prone. I never have a need to take to oars apart to stow, so I glued them together with 3M 5200 which is a great solution as long as you absolutely never want to take them apart again.I read bad things about the plastic oar pins that come with them, so I never used them. Loosen one screw and they slide off and I put the old steel oar pins from my old oars on them. You should adjust the oar pins for proper length for your boat anyway, so I just switched them out and threw the plastic ones in the toolbox as spares. For a rowboat, these have a few easily rectified problems and are about the best oars you are going to get in this length and with these blades for anywhere near this price. Keep in mind that a good set of carbon fiber sculling oars are well over a thousand bucks for only a little more length.

Great product!
Don’t honestly know about the durability, as I’ve only used these once. Happy to find the 9 foot size! Needed long oars for our 1448 Lowe Jon boat. Bought for exercise! Happy with this purchase so far! Love the light weight. These would be hard to handle, at 9 feet, if they were wooden. No “play” in the joint that holds the two sections of the handle. Very pleased so far!!

Great oars except for plastic parts.
Light weight, break down for storage, sturdy, but worthless oar locks. Sawed off finger on the oar locks and used modified oar "locks" as oar "stops". Work great now.

Sturdy and well balanced.
These oars worked well, the shaft is 9ft. and the blade is extra which worked well for me as my beam is 6ft. and about 3 feet high from the water.Because of the previous reviews about the cherap plastic oarlocks, I brought a space set or oarlocks with me. But I pulled a medium stroke and had no problems.Best value and good quality.

The oar locks are made of plastic, and as you would suspect, broke within the first week of use.
The oars themselves are good but how could anyone think that plastic oarlocks would be durable...and they are not. I'd prefer to pay a little more and get metal oarlocks rather than get stuck out on a lake and not be able to use my oars! It's a safety concern.
