Panasonic LUMIX DC-GX9KEB Compact System Mirrorless Camera with 12-32mm Lens - Black

I bought this for specialist wildlife photography: I photograph wild bees.I need a compact lightweight camera for this work, and a mirrorless Micro-Four-Thirds camera offers substantial advantages in the performance of much, much smaller and lighter lenses than those required for an SLR.The Panasonic Lumix GX9 offers the best balance of size and performance on the market, despite it's age, and an excellent selection of lenses is available - including 'Ultra Macro' lenses for specialist photographers.You'll have a lot of fun with this camera, and the smaller size and weight means you'll take it out far more often than a full-size SLR.I recommend the Olympus M. Zuiko 60 mm f/2.8 MSC ED Macro Digital Lens as a good general-purpose zoom-to-macro lens for this camera: however, I use a more specialist 'Ultra Macro' manual-focus lens for wildlife fieldwork.

Long time since I had a camera that gave me some control and the micro four thirds has allowed me to dip my toe in, without the thousands of pounds DSLR cameras cost. I was very reluctant to purchase the GX9 from Amazon because the delivery time was 2-3 months, however this was my first choice camera for a number of reasons and in the end I purchased it. Actually received the camera 3 days later! Been delighted so far but I accept I am still learning.

A technical knowledge of the camera is found in the instructions but takes s long time to learn.A very smart almost retro looking camera and I am sure I will become familiar with all it does by practicing. The only thing that is a bit disappointing is after paying nearly £500 there was no case with it, not great having to buy seperate.Look forward to taking some great pictures and I will be getting a longer glass to go with it😷

My 3rd LUMIX camera and they keep getting better. This is a very substantial camera, quite heavy and has many great features. The Bluetooth connectivity works well but drains the battery very quickly. Picture quality superb and infinitely adjustable. The picture quality through the viewfinder may not be perfect, but I use it to line up the shot, so it does the job.

Even as a novice can use straight out of the box....once I learned how to turn it on! I bought this to learn photography and wanted something easy to carry and that I could change to different lenses as I grow (hopefully) in knowledge. Picture quality is excellent...which is what I bought the camera for...as i'm not interested in vlogging or selfies!

Excellent picture quality, compact size, a great successor to my GF1 that got me into micro four thirds back in 2010. Paired it with the sigma 30mm 1.4, Panasonic 12-35 f2.8 and Panasonic 20mm 1.7.

I purchaced this camera mainly to use on holidays when my Nikon would be too cumbersome. However I am very pleased with the results.The camera arrived well packaged within the time advised.I am very pleased with the service.
