Beautyrest Recharge Kalia Plush Mattress Set, Queen

This mattress was amazing for the first year, but I have found that the mattress has dips on both sides and we are only two years into owning the mattress. The two people sleeping on this mattress weigh 160 and 180 pounds. I anticipated having this mattress much longer than 3 years, but it is looking like this will need to be replaced sooner than later as it is lacking the support needed. If you are looking for a guest bed that isn't slept in all the time, this would be perfect. This is not a mattress for daily sleeping.

I was hesitant to buy a mattress online, but I was able to sleep on this one at a friend's house. This mattress has just the right combination of firmness and comfort. It's very comfortable, yet offers good back support. I scoured the internet looking for the best price, and as usual, Amazon came through.The mattress (and box spring) were delivered within the promised time frame, unpacked and setup and my old bed was removed. I'm very satisfied with my new mattress and with the service provided.

I ordered the Beautyrest Recharge Kalia Plush Mattress Set from Amazon with the thought that it would be a wonderful replacement for my fifteen-year-old Serta Perfect Sleeper. With the touting it as providing pressure relief and support and also a design that promotes airflow throughout the mattress, I felt my choice for a bed set would help my lower backache and provide a cooler night's sleep during our occasional hot summer nights.While numerous individually wrapped springs adjust independently to the weight of each partner, I feel the plush mattress, which is moderately soft rather than firm, does not support my lower back as well as a firmer mattress. It has a nice quilted top and feels fairly firm when lying on my back, however, it doesn't offer the L4-5 lumbar support I need. Ditto lying on my side. I sink in just enough to cause a curvature that positions my ribcage almost on my hipbone.In comparing the Beautyrest Recharge with my Serta Perfect Sleeper, my body is positioned with adequate lumbar support from the latter. Also, when I sit on the edge of my old mattress, there is little give, while the Beautyrest mattress compresses 3 to 4 inches (I am not a heavy person). Moreover, I do not care for the fact that the mattress is not reversible. I like to turn my mattress top to bottom and head to foot every three months or so. One cannot do this with the Beautyrest.Because of my aforementioned osteoporosis/arthritis lumbar problem, I was not able to sleep a full night on the Beautyrest, but my cat who is far less persnickety loves it.For someone without a back problem, this would be a good mid-range choice. The set is well made (carries a 20-year limited warranty) and attractive with its cream and grey knitted fabric top, and the airflow technology quite innovative. The box spring unit measures 9 inches in height, the mattress 10 so it does not require exceptionally deep pocket sheets.I give it 3.5 stars for comfort and 4.5 stars for design.
