M PM999 All-Purpose Laboratory Film, 4" x 250' on 1" Core

Parafilm is commonly used in labs to tightly close and seal vials, bottles, jars, etc. containing liquids or solids. I use it often to seal partially used glue containers. It stretches and conforms to the shape of the tube or bottle and forms a good seal. It can be wrapped around multiple times and it sticks to itself very well because of stretching. For this reason it can stick better than kitchen plastic wrap, and it's also chemically relatively inert and resistant to many chemicals, including strong acids and bases (for some time. ) It seems expensive, but the package is heavy and it last for a long time if used for its purpose. It's generally not used for very large openings, like food containers or trays. The best way of removing the paper backing is to slightly stretch the film until the paper tears.

The classic, user-friendly, flexible solution for the lab (or many projects at home). I have used Parafilm-M for years and happy to say, it is one of my most favorite, multi-functional products of all time. Highly recommend it for lab and for other uses around the house. I have heard the term "coat hanger and duct tape" for years...that term needs to be restated as "coat hanger, duct tape, and Parafilm!"

Parafilm is routinely used in lab settings and we needed to replenish our supply. It works as expected.

If you've ever wondered what CostCo uses to make their organic bananas last longer, this is it. Sometime in the past couple of years, CostCo stopped wrapping their regular bananas with this stuff, and as a result they ripen faster - much faster. Applying this tape over the exposed stem will limit oxygen being able to get in allowing the bananas to generate ethylene gas and ripen faster. So, if you'd like to preserve your 'conventional' bananas longer or slow their ripening, this is the tape for that purpose.

Parafilm is expensive, so I expect it to do the job I buy it for -- keep my agar plates from contaminating. However, it tears too easily when wrapping plates. If I manage to actually wrap a plate completely, the film develops small cracks after a few days. Don't buy this stuff. It's a waste of money.

I use this to seal the caps on moisture-sensitive casting resins and the like. It's the by far the best solution I've found to keeping humidity out and extending their life.

works as expected, boxed being a bit beat up was no problem( i ordered it this way), the first 6 squares or so were a bit stale but it seems others also had that problem, gotten to a point now where that isnt a problem now. great product. does take some getting used to, to use though.

this satisfies my needs and then some not some cheap imitaion sit is make in the USA, Bemis , is not some knock off From a foreign country making a cheap product

Works as advertised. This is the perfect material to preserve expensive bottles of unopened scotch. Acts as a secondary airtight barrier incase of cork malfunction.

Compré este producto para mi laboratorio debido a que el costo me pareció muy accesible. El parafilm cumple su función, sin embargo, encontré muchos detalles en el producto. El envío por parte del vendedor fue muy rápido pero al llegar el paquete me di cuenta que venía muy maltratado y golpeado. En el exterior la caja del parafilm tenía algún tipo de pegamento desconocido y en el interior se encontraba bastante polvosa, además, al revisar el parafilm se nota que ha sido expuesto a calor excesivo debido a que las orillas están derretidas y pegadas entré sí. Al utilizar el parafilm se nota un poco quebradizo y cuesta trabajo manipularlo pero con paciencia aún puede ser utilizado. Solo espero que los detalles mencionados se encuentren únicamente en mi producto y que los demás compradores no pasen por la misma situación.
