This book didn’t age well
This is not my first time reading book. I read it years ago when it was first released. I had the paper back book. I think I either gave it away or threw it was while moving. I was a big Noire fan back then so I think I may have enjoyed the book back then. However, I was thinking about rereading the G-Spot and stumbled across this book. I could remember this book that I previously owned to save my life so I repurchased it thinking I would enjoy the book again. Boy was I WRONG! 🙄😒. Now I see why i didn’t remember this book. It wasn’t worth remembering and most definitely wasn’t worth repurchasing! Candy’s character was a piece of work. I know that she didn’t have the best guidance growing up with her mama, but the girl was plain stupid. From deciding to let her mama make that run for her, to acting like Caramel’s change in behavior, especially towards her was uncalled for. Actually, I really don’t think her getting shot in the head had anything to do with her change in personality. I think it had everything to with her dislike/hate that was not only reserved for her but her mom as well. Both of them put her life in jeopardy. Candy just didn’t want to fully accept and admit that she was reason for her sister’s demise, but I will say I don’t think Candy is the responsible for her mom’s death at all.Throughout the book, I found it funny that she could say that Peaches rode the short bus, when in fact it was her who rode the short yellow bus! Peaches was putting her up on game but she was to stupid see it. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Peaches. She just played her role. However, I stand by my decision when I say Candy was slow because throughout the book, it seem as thought she never believed fat meat was greasy. She triggered Hurricane a time or two and after he abused her physically and sexually she had the nerve to say she “if I didn’t know he was crazy I knew now”. Like what?!? So the last time he almost beat you and almost killed you wasn’t enough to make believer out of you? Ye, I know she was a victim of domestic abuse, but some (not all) could have been avoided especially when it came to his insecurities. But no she had to have smart remark a time or two, which is what I meant by it could’ve been avoided. Then her priorities was off, she was so worried about being pleased sexuality. Chile with a man like hurricane down my back, that would have been the least of my concerns. Money would’ve been the main issue. The relationship btw her and Knowledge was just thrown together so quickly. So I couldn’t say he was “Bae”. They had no real chemistry. She couldn’t tell the difference btw a real friend and a fake one. Vonnie, who I quickly realized wasn’t her friend was a snake. Her mama taught her that looks/sex appeal could get you far. Not once did she mention having a back plan just in case singing didn’t work out. She never taught her daughter about the dangers of chasing fame either. It seemed as though Caramel would have been better off with the foster family than her real family because neither had taken her wellbeing into consideration. They both were selfish, especially Candy. She wasn’t thinking of Caramel when Nicky laid all of the cards on the table. All in all, I honestly didnt feel sorry not one bit for Candy or her situation besides the abuse. It was truly sad what happened to her one true friend Dominica.

Wow, this book made me angry 😡, sad 😔, I cried and most of all I felt more afraid for candy 🍭. But no matter how tough life get and when you feelLike everything you once love ❤️ Has been ripped away from you just remember that everyone has a knowledge on their side. It' s just LIKE CANDY!
Candy is another diva in distress, with big dreams of becoming a famous singer. When she thinks her life is about to go from bad to even worse she bumps heads with one of the hottest rappers on the planet, Junius "Hurricane" Jackson. He is CEO of the number-one urban record label, House of Homicide, in Harlem. Candy finally can live her fairytale, so she thinks. Going from dead broke to having everything anyone could ever want; she lacks what her heart truly desires. Romance & Love. Instead she enters the most abusive sadistic relationship one could ever imagine. Her only safe route? The arms of Hurricane's lawyer, Knowledge.Noire did an amazing job with this GRIMEY, in-your-face tale of the music industry. Candy Licker is action packed, and will have you on the edge of your seat through the entire novel. Noire did an extraordinary job with her vivid descriptions. I could smell the sweat dripping off every booty popper & rapper in the club!I can't get enough of NOIRE!!!

Raw and very entertaining ;-)
This book is great. I read it in record time. There is even a message in the front of the book that actually says something along the lines of the fact that this isn't a romance book but an urban erotic tale that's real and straight and if you can't handle it - don't read it. I agree; it's not sugar coated but it is a good read.Candy is an ex drug runner, trying to make a name for herself in the music industry. This is the story of that and how she tries to move on from the past and deal with the present and future. Some parts are sad, some scary and some are purely enough to make you blush. It's a great book, and like the warning says, it's not for the faint of heart; there is a lot of violence and gory scenes, but it sure is a good read. You really feel for Candy. With all the losses in her life and the beatings etc, you'll be glad that the book ends the way it does. I really loved this.

The whole book was just violence
Hate to give it 2 stars BUT..... This was not one of my favourite books. I thought it would be a good love story. But the whole book was about the main character getting beat up by her man. The development between her , and Knowledge was short and quick. I feel like I never got to see true love between them , until close to the end of the book. Again not my favourite.

Settin' It Off In '06!! Candy Licker is on Fire!!
Oh my goodness!! Damn this book was so good!! Noire out did her self on this one. This is the first book I've read this new year and all I can say is it's already one of the best! It is gonnna take one helluva book to make me change my mind. I was so into this story that I could feel Candy's pain. I wanted to jump into the book and put a bullet in Hurricane's skull. He was a dirty, low-down psycho bastard! Candy suffered so much pain mentally and physically, from the beatings and humiliations and the deaths of her Mama, Caramel, Vonnie and Dom. I'm glad Knowledge was around,( we all need a candy licker like him) he saved Candy's life. This story will hook you from the first page, it's that good. I CAN NOT wait until Noire's next novel!

A survival story
I was drawn in from beginning to end...such a powerful story to tell, so many emotions in the pages. It was difficult to read some part but it’s the hope for a hopefully happy that kept me engaged. Great read!!
