Love this door
Love this door, it is really nice quality. My handy man said it was a unique install, but he watched the online video and it was easy. He has installed hundreds, he said this is the nicest one he has ever seen! I thought the way it was built would hold up to 3 big dogs and extreme temperatures. Now its getting my 3 chow dogs trained to use it, They are doing really well, with me opening the one door and they follow the leader through the door. My old guy was the one I thought would have a rough time, that is why I choose this design since the outside is 2" lower, I though it would be easier for him to use. For right now used a teak door mat angled outside the door as the ramp. It is pretty pricey, but I have seen some other door that are all plastic and they still run a couple hundred dollars. This one is worth the money, to know it can be securely locked and closed if need be.

Much quieter than magnetic flaps!
Pros: Makes so little noise compared to doors with magnetized flaps. Dog learned to use very quickly. Looks nice. Well-made. Durable frame and doors.Cons: Hefty price tag!! Took better part of the day to install (by husband who is knowledgeable and handy with projects like this)Our Plexidor was installed in a wall leading from house interior into our garage. The Medium sized door works ideally for our 18”H (height at shoulders, not top of head) 32# Australian Cattle Dog.Note: When our daughter’s 24”H, 49# ACD visits, he too can fit through this door; but I would definitely recommend the Large Plexidor for a dog his size if needed for regular, daily use.

Absolutley not recommended for Stucco Exteriors!
I'm ready to write my review, after allowing myself to calm down. Not too many things get me. The installation of this door did. I absolutely do not recommend this for anyone with a stucco exterior. DIY, Handyman, Professional Contractor...it doesn't matter. This is a challenging install. No instructions or videos will make this easier. It will NEVER look like the video install. In fact, if you're lucky, it will sustain very few scratches and dings and dents after your install. I consider my install as-good-as-its-gonna-get. The door is great with one caveat - my dogs are scared crazy of it. I'm hoping the "up to five days" training will help, but its just something that's going to take timid dogs - a husky and spaniel a lot of time to get over. The issue I have with this item is the outside frame and the pass through. The outside frame is not suitable for stucco. It will be uneven no matter what. The pass through, IMHO, is a joke. It could have been constructed of ANYTHING else that is easier to work with. It doesn't look great and I've tried going through it and still get scuffed up on my arms. That isn't the issue though - it could have been made with ANYTHING easier to work with. Make it out of plastic that is trimmable. Seriously...anything! Not aluminum. It doesn't matter if your kit comes with a blade. It doesn't matter if you call tech support - they aren't installing it for you. I broke several screws attempting to tighten the frame side (again, due to the stucco). The drill bit also broke. I sugg. a redesign of the pass through, and sell according to install type with the right items needed. Personally, I've never been a fan of cement screws. Had I known that the outside frame would be handicapped by the stucco exterior, I would not have purchased this item. Not worth the cost and aggravation, IMO. Good luck, if you decide to purchase it. Just be ready. Ask for a copy of the install, so you can see really how challenging the install is. The video makes it look like the install is a cake-walk. Use that as direction, but take it with a grain of salt. I watched the video about ten times, and it still didn't help with the conditions that just come up while you try to install.

Pricey but worth it!
Having had this door installed since December I need to share how awesome this door is. We have a chocolate lab and 2 great danes who slam through it continuously. This door holds up remarkably well. I sometimes wonder how the window doesn't break! It still looks great, works great, and holds heat or cool in without leaking (except when the dogs stand and hold it open to look out). Very sturdy and secure. We love it.

Strong, high quality door!
High quality dog door. Bought others in the past and they crack. This is a high quality door. Very well built. Like my dad says, you get what you pay for. It’s worth the price!

Doesn't last as long as hoped.
Purchased this in 2018. My contractor installed it in my home in December 2018. I got my pups in April 2019. They learned to use the door fast, and at first it was a dream. It hardly ever made a noise. The dogs could move with ease. And best of all I could lock it!It's now October 2021--a little over two years--and the Arizona weather+continuous use by two active dogs has taken its toll. The panel doors don't seal all that well anymore and try as I might, dust just keeps filling up the springs. And now, worst of all, the locking mechanism broke when one of my dogs decided to try to go out of the door while it was locked (see photo). Fortunately disaster was averted for my pup (she made it through the doors, and I was home to let her back inside through the regular door) but I had to spend half the night trying to get the piece of the locking mechanism out of the door so that it's still usable--which was made difficult by my currently broken foot (it's just me, so, unless I wanted to have no dog door at all, during a time when I'm not capable of driving...well, it's no good). It's not the doors fault per-se, but yeesh it really feels like it broke during my hour of need. Folks told me this door will last you 5 years or more. It's why I purchased it.But it looks like 2-3 is closer to the mark before you have to start purchasing replacement parts.

Plexidor is awesome. Pricey but lasts a long time
Plexidor is awesome. Pricey but lasts a long time. Had one at our old house for over five years with two dogs using it. Still in perfect working order when we moved.
