Had a bat or two roosting under the house soffit, right near a door we use frequently. Was cleaning up bat messes frequently. I tried motion activated lights, but it didn't deter the bats. This actually worked. Have not had a single bat dropping since this was installed. I linked 3 discs together and left out the long hook part, just a swivel, disc, link connector, and repeat, making a chain of 3 discs. Used a spring loaded hand staple gun and attached to the wooden soffit. So happy this worked, finally found something!

As the item picture shows, these are intended to be set up with three discs. However, I use these in archways to a patio and porch, so I just hung two to a line due to head clearance. I've noticed that two don't work as well as three, but two do still scare away most of the birds.Key to the effectiveness of these is a breeze/wind. With a breeze, these sway and rotate causing the discs to reflect light well. If you hang these up between trusses/rafters or in the corner of a porch, they will have almost no effect. It's best to hang them on your fascia or an entryway that you are trying to keep clear.The kit comes with 24 discs, each over 3" in diameter; 8 hooks; 8 swivel clips; and 24 split rings. CAUTION: the discs were stamped, so one side has a very sharp edge. Each disc has the protective film on both sides; you'll need to remove this before assembly. A fingernail or small screwdriver will get the film started. Once you remove the film, link three discs using the split rings. Add a swivel clip to the top split ring and then add the hook (if needed). These hooks are intended to be universal, so you can hang them from a ceiling/cup hook or directly onto the limb of a tree or plant.I hung mine using stainless steel ceiling hooks (ASIN B07JQDSPFH). With these hooks you don't need the hook that came with the kit; just attach the swivel clip to the ceiling hook.It's a bit of a chore to remove 48 sheets of film, but it's not impossible. Just use caution when handling the sharp edge. Two of the swivel hooks open, but do not shut on their own. The spring within seems to be missing or broken. They are still usable, however.

These discs really worked for us. We had a flock of birds every morning attack our patio and mess all over our outdoor furniture necessitating a daily clean-up. Since we've hung these discs around our patio the problem is solved. The sun's reflection from these discs combined with how the wind moves the discs around created many random visual movements around our patio scaring the birds away. Now I can drink my morning coffee on the patio in peace.

I like how super Shiney it is after removing the blue protection film.I bought this to chase the birds away from eating my dog food. It doesnt work at all, even with wind....But...I'm keeping it, bc I love how pretty it is, especially when the wind blows. Does not do a thing about chasing birds away

This is a good product once put together but all assembly is required. Took me two hours by myself because each medallion is coated in blue plastic wrap on each side that must be removed. Takes a while to remove the plastic and the edges are quite sharp. While peeling it off a couple medallions, my hand got sliced by the sharp edges not once, but twice! One of the injuries was like a papercuton my hand and the other a pretty deep gash on my thumb that bled alot. If you're expecting to pull this product out of the box ready to go, then look elsewhere because you must assemble this yourself. It looks really good once put together except the hanger part is hard to bend so that they don't fall off whatever you're hanging it on.I bought it to keep hawks away and hopefully it works but my review is very much one star due to the tedious assembly that really shouldn't be the customer's job and the fact that these medallions have sharp edges that cut up my hands.I will say that the assembly wouldn't have even been that big of a deal if the medallions weren't wrapped in stubborn, hard to remove plastic that makes it more likely to get sliced.

It truly works. They issue is that they are like Christmas ornaments, and if you do not wrap them tight on the branch they come off with the wind. I wish they could stay. They did worked for the first three days until the wind came and knocked them all out.

The blue coating on every single disk, front and back, is hard to get off, and you can easily get cut by a disk assembling these. I should’ve noticed another review who said this! It’s real. Once assembled they seem like they are working (crows on other decks but not ours today), but I just got them.

I mounted these on my entry way to keep birds from landing. Also the reflection reminds people easier in and out of driveway
