Coleman PowerChill Thermoelectric Cooler with Power Supply (40-Quart)

I ordered this around the beginning of Jan'11 I used it this summer and it worked perfect. When I got it I turned it on and ran it a month just to see how long it would keep things cool and what it would not keep cool. It did just what I wanted it to do I had a roasted chicken that kept cold not cool for 2 days. I love, love, love, it! The only draw back is carrying it. It would be nice if it was on wheels maybe the manufactor would see about adding wheels and a handle but all in all it has been very good. I am about to take another trip and will be using it. I have not used the plug in for the car yet but will this trip so I don't know how that works. It was well worth the money. I have recommended it to some of my friends. The friend that went with me this summer loved it too.

I have seen some posted complaints about the plug OVERHEATING, and mine did too. I called Coleman, and they sent me a new cord with no questions asked. I got it two days later and the repair took less than 5 minutes. You need a #1 Philips driver, and that's it. They sent a nice instructions sheet with the new cord. BTW, the new cord is re-engineered and does not get hot. THANKS COLEMAN!!!This cooler is great! I use it for hauling food back and forth between home and cabin -- about 2-3 hours at a time. They don't suggest using it for extended periods, such as overnight, so don't plan on it for that type situation. It saves me the cost and hassle of ice or ice packs every weekend. I'm glad I bought this!

I recently (August, 2012) purchased this product from Amazon for a round-trip from Phoenix, Arizona to British Columbia, Canada. I am very pleased with the performance of the cooler.I was somewhat concerned about the reviews I had read regarding burnt out fan motor, poor power supply connections, etc. However, I did not encounter any of these issues. The cooler worked as advertised, keeping our food cool/fresh as we traveled and also in our hotel rooms. Based on the reviews I read, I made sure that there was lots of room for air flow next to the fan, when traveling.The coupling of the power supply with the cigarette lighter adapter was facilitated by a plastic ring, to tighten up the connection. My guess is that this is a product enhancement due to previous problems. Without the ring, it was difficult making a good connection. You know you have a good connection when the power supply light turns on.Built in handles made it easy to carry and move around. I like the way you can either have the unit positioned with the lid on top or to the front. The exterior material is very durable and easy to clean.

It says it comes with a power supply and cost more then one without a power supply It did not come with a power supply!

My husband and I moved from Virginia to Idaho which was a 4 day cross country trip. I pluged the cooler in the night before our trip was to begin into an AC outlet in our house. The next morning we put it in my SUV and pluged it in and began filling it up with bottles of water, sodas, lunch meat, cheese, mayonnaise and mustard. Each day we would stop for a picnic take from cooler what we needed. The cooler is so quite we could not hear it running, but trust me it was doing an awesome job keeping everything cold. At night when we stopped we would take it in our hotel room, plug it in an AC outlet for the night. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this on “prime day” back in July because I wanna start doing some adventures in suv/car camping; I’m just now(28September) doing a real testing of it for the past two days indoors.It’s NOT very cooling indoors so I can’t imagine it being sufficient outdoors.I probably could have done about the same with bags of ice and NOT have need for a power source to keep stuff luk coldMy advice is to DO REAL TESTING BEFORE the return date expires

I purchased this cooler to use in the car for a move from Texas to Washington State. It performed even better than I had hoped. I used the adapter (included in package) to plug it in in the house prior to loading it. Next, I filled it with some frozen foods on the bottom and cold foods & beverages on the top. When I arrived in Washington State (after 30 hours on the road) the items in the bottom were still frozen solid. This after we had opened it numerous times during the trip to pull out a cold drink or a snack. Would definitely recommend this to friends & family.

I ordered this cooler at the last moment for our eight day vacation on the road. we kept the cooler plugged in the car when driving and plugged in the hotel room at night. The fact that you do not need to use ice means that the cooler is about half the size that it would need to be with ice and hold the same amount of food and cans. we used it to keep soda cans, water bottles, cream cheese, sliced meat. Nothing got water logged as it would have in a conventional cooler. Vacationing with a family of six I estimate that having the cooler saved us $100/day vs. eating out. Items on the side of the cooler with the fan did get cooler.The items on our trip stayed very cold and saved us hundreds of dollars on lunches and sodas and water.I would recommend this cooler to anyone.

I bought the Coleman cooler 15 years ago, it has worked well, it plugs into the port in the car and works. The one I had died, not because of old age but the cord was stretched and the plug in over heated. The 7.5 amp fuse cut out, I figured that it was time to update. I bought another one because they are the biggest and the best. I did not need the hot and cold, just the cooler. I have just returned from a 12 day trip and the cooler worked fine. Many thumbs up.

The Power Supply coming with the cooler does not work. I want to return it (the Power Supply) for a new one. I need an address where to send it.
