Very good Book
My Daughter got this book from her school library and unfortunately it was all torn apart from all the kids whom used it. I purchased this so that we could bless them school with a new copy.

Gross pictures... but good book for children
This book has some really gross pictures, however, I am pretty grossed out by bugs of all kinds... so this was a bit much for me. When my daughter brought this home from her school library, I really dreaded reading it to her and seeing all the pictures. I think that's why she got it, cause she always laughs at my reaction when I see any kind of insect. However, this book was good for new readers, and she was quickly able to read me the entire book with ease. There were not many challenging words for my 5 year old daughter.

This Book is Silly
I can't believe I paid what I did for this book. There are 9 pictures of crickets, and 9 pages of writing with one sentence on each. The information is stuff like "most crickets are black or brown" or "some crickets live in trees". The most redeeming quality is the page in the back that lists three more books about crickets. So now I know which book to buy.

Realistic pictures, accurate facts
From a teacher and grandma, this is a great teaching book for insect lovers and children open to learning about new things. It is a small 6x7 book with 24 pages of one-line facts (e.g. "Crickets have ears on their front legs")The full-page photos show crickets in their real habitat.Vocabulary is known for most 5 yr olds. After a few readings, this one will go on the "I can read this by myself" bookshelf. Some good resources/tips at end of book.I will look for more of these Capstone Pebble books.

crickets
I bought this book to read to my Pre-K class and they loved it. It is short and simple enough for my kiddos to understand yet it is also very informative.
