Great so far
A few months into use and it is working as intended. Great price point. If it holds up for awhile, definitely a 5 star purchase then.

Pretty much identical to what I pulled out of my pool
None of the other fill valves I could find online have very good reviews. Even my local pool supply stores only carry the $10-15 units that have poor ratings on Amazon. So I bit the bullet and bought this one, figuring if the first one lasted 12 years in hard Las Vegas water before it crudded up and the seal was destroyed, then maybe...I only put it in a few days ago, so I can't speak to its longevity, but I can say that this valve does have the stainless steel insert and a rubber flat seal. The units in my pool supply stores were all brass without any seals.Worth noting also is that this valve (at least the brass portion) is manufactured in the USA (St. Louis, MO). Seems like any USA-made metal parts that I've bought lately are 3 times the cost, but significantly higher quality.Update 9/4/16: Almost 3 years later and I have had zero issues with this leveler. I haven't had to adjust it a single time since installation.Update 3/31/19: Well, it finally bit the dust. My pool level varied very little over the 5+ years that this was in operation, but today I went to check it and the float just fell off in my hand. The brass had corroded and was very brittle. I think I'm gonna try my luck with a plastic leveler. I don't know what the life expectancy is for these - maybe 5 years is average - but I feel like I should have gotten more longevity out of it. As such, I've lowered the rating to 4 stars.

Expensive but leaks
I purchased this more expensive brass valve/float so I would not have any issues. HOwever, the one I received is defective. It never shuts off. So I am returning it. I ordered the cheaper plastic valve/float which works much better . Not recommended
