How to remove without damage to door?

I wasn’t even ready to remove ours. It literally fell off and took the paint with it. Super disappointed.

Is this device fire code approved?

I dont know, but I doubt it. If it is on the outside of an interior room, like a bedroom or bathroom, the person inside the room could not open the door to get out. If it is used only on the inside of an exterior door, an adult could open it and get out.

Am I able to stick this to our wall? I need my baby to stop shutting his bedroom door. I want the door to be open, but not able to push open.

Yes. You can stick it to nearly any uniform/evenly-level, flat surface. I'd imagine you could turn the gadget on its side/horizontally (instead of vertically as in the pictures) & affix it to the doorframe or wall so that the flexible/button-release flap extends past the frame and impedes the door from closing all the way. Or 2nd idea: you could affix it vertically to the inside width of the door (i.e. the side opposite of the one affixed to the frame by hinges - and is the side that has the mechanism aligned with the hole in the doorframe that allows it to stay shut when closed) so that the door is no longer flush with the frame. The top piece of the lock juts out permanently (only the piece meant to go below the door handle is adjustable), so it would stop the door from being able to close shut when it hits the frame. Offering you about an inch opening, but not allowing the door to ever fully close (until the gadget is removed). There's actually numerous ways you could set this up to achieve your purposes now that I've thought about it.

Are you able to open the door from the other side?

I was able to. My fiance was worried when I wasn't responding from the other side of the door where I had this latch in the locked position, and he forcefully pushed down the lever doorknob on the other side of the door and it was enough to push the latch down/out of locked position so the door could be opened from the outside. And it didn't even break the latch or our doorknob.
