Surprised by quality
did not expect much for the price. When they arrived they were compactly packed in a small plastic pouch. When I opened them they seemed thin and cheaply made. Was I pleasantly surprised when i actually used them. They were easy to put on, and worked very well. The velcro used is wide and heavy duty. My only caution is be sure to buy the right size. I do no have muscular legs and the pair bought just fit. Used them on pull on and laced boots, walking several miles in 6+ inches of snow. They kept my pants dry and snow free. They stayed in place also. Very satisfied.

Great Product at a Great Price
I received the order sooner than originally told. This is my first pair of leg gaiters and I used them on a 6.5 mile hike through 12" of snow. They kept my pants dry and the snow from sneaking into the tops of my boots. My pair fit a little big, I ordered a large based on the calf size chart, not that big of deal since the strap on top that I was able to tighten and kept them from creeping down my leg while hiking. They are comfortable to wear and they didn't get caught on the sticks or other debris while hiking.

Very good gaiter with a good price.
As a UPS driver, I used these on snowy days with my boots. They aren't 100% water proof for your feet. The hook at the very bottom of the gaiter that hooks onto your lace closest to your toes will sit kinda high up on the lace area of your shoes, so if you don't have proper water proof boots you will risk getting a little water in. It does a good job blocking water and snow from getting in around your ankles tho. Im 5'9 and first got the smallest size, but had to go up a size just to make sure the tops of the gaiters reached my low knee area. They tighten nicely and won't fall down on you.

Get the largest ones
I bought these for a firefighters course, for winter snow hikes and walking through thorny brush. These came in handy for several reasons. They can keep your legs dry in snowy conditions, dry in wetter conditions and can make quick work of finding ticks if you are walking through the woods. Easy to go on and take off. The only things I don't like is the strap at the bottom. I bought leggings many years ago and they had grommets allowing you to use shoelaces to strap the bottoms and to replace them when they broke. All the new styles seem to be made with the theory of "replacement" vs. repair. When this strap break, and it will in time, I will install grommets at the bottom and use shoe strings to hold them down.

Lacks aeration so sweating happens underneath
I and my 3 friends brought this for our Everest base camp trek, but all of us had to stop wearing as everytime we would take it off we would notice the pant underneath would be wet. It didn’t allow air circulation so sweat wouldn’t clear and make skin wet and pants wet. This didn’t happen to others with different brand of gaiters like “outdoor research”. I guess you get what you pay

Great for price
These are not insulated but are of course waterproof. (I presume 😊) I have not worn these out yet but tried them on. I like the fit. I am 5’1” they come up to the knee. But if your taller don’t worry you will seldom need something that high. You won’t fit these around your high boots except perhaps around the ankle area they can fit over low boots. But then if you have high boots you wouldn’t really need these. The foot strap is an annoyance and I’m sure that’s with whatever brand you choose. I really just want to cut that thing off but feel I might regret it. I wish there was a place to tuck it out of the way. I honestly think a foot strap could pose a tripping hazard under the right conditions like getting caught up on low branches and twigs, etc or anything! So just beware and be careful especially on children or elderly. I suppose you could always sew in a little hook on the inside and tuck the strap in. I’m afraid that in high snow —which I may not even encounter—could push the gaiters up so I rather not cut the strap off. That said there is also a little shoe lace hook that can help keep the gaiter down. Haven’t used em yet but I feel good to know I have them handy in event of a storm and I gotta go out to shovel and clean my car.
