This is my go-to when I need to slice large cuts of meat!!! I smoked a 14 lb brisket last night. Clean cuts!!! Can do very thin & clean cuts without pressure due to sharpness, build quality, & handle. I'm just a backyard smokin' & grillin' man for family & friends but do it about 3 times a week & majority are roasts where slicing is needed. You can slice without pressure which means you won't lose that moisture in meat when needing to slice it. It's a MUST HAVE if you want a durable, long lasting, & sharp knife. Customer Service is OUTSTANDING as well which is a huge bonus!!! It's pricy upfront but but you definitely will understand why once you try it out & won't regret it!!!

A really beautiful, quality tool. Works as good as it looks; just a few swipes on each side of a knife and the edge is corrected. Even the packaging is worthy of a $200 piece. I'm beyond impressed!

Solid heavy duty. Quality

This is definitely the best slicing knife I have ever owned. We do a lot of brisket and other large pieces of meat, and this cuts them prettier and more consistently than any other knife I own. The handle leaves a lot to be desired, it looks more like it was designed by a storm trooper out of Star Wars then by someone who actually uses a knife in the kitchen. Blade is beautiful and sharp, and if I put some thing over the handle it makes it more tenable and useful for those days cutting up barbecue.

Real sharp knife ... its pretty sturdy but the design is not meant for comfort ... the odd handle is hard to hold and the knife of flimsy .. for the money it’s worth getting but if you want a nice solid knife I would recommend getting there other series of knives

Not my first Dalstrong knife. Won't be my last, but I'm unimpressed with this one. I've used it.... so now I can't return it but I should have returned as I was immediately disappointed. I tried it because (for me) Dalstrong knives have repeatedly out performed their price. We had a big Easter dinner this weekend and I was doing my thing on the Traeger and the Coupe de Grace was going to be slicing the Brisket with this 14" bad boy.... well it was less than impressive. Thankfully, I had a Spiral cut ham that I disassembled with my Dalstrong Firestorm Alpha Boning knife.... that was very impressive. Dalstrong, you clearly have grades in all your series.... I wish you rated them accordingly. I have some Shoguns awesome... gladiator steak knives... very decent... Firestorm is clearly very very good.... Shadow Black...... look aggressive and cool but didn't perform for me and feels kind of flimsy in the hand.UPDATE:As mentioned above not my first Dalstrong, wont be my last... well that is as true as ever. So much so, Dalstrong may be the only knife I buy from now on. I'll find a use for the knife I bought and I stand by my review... but Dalstrong coustomer service will not allow you (anyone) to be dissatisfied... and for that a 5 star redemption is well deserved.

This is an early review so it is based off a limited time of use but, here is the first take. I am very happy with the carving set I bought. I deliberated for a couple days over going with a traditional looking set or this more modern style knife. I usually will go with the old tried and true version of things but a couple of things swayed me. As a Manufacturing Engineer for a prominent hand tool company I decided to not be "averse to change" and this knife has a powder coat to keep it from staining or corrosion. So far I am glad I took the road less traveled.The knife cuts very well, it is extremely balanced, and the handle (although unusual looking) actually fits in your grip amazingly. The handle was the part I was not sure I would like and I was wrong. They did their ergonomic homework and it shows.The fork is a beast. I love this thing. Your turkey is not going to move, tilt, or roll when you use this to pin it down. It is also pretty heavy and very thick. It is not going to bend removing turkey or roast from a pan. It is a nice piece of equipment.So far I am very happy with this modern replacement for my Grandmother's carving set I have been using for 30 years. It is very nice equipment.

Was looking for a durable sharp knife to cut meat and poultry that was comfortable in the hand .. FOUND it in this product line . I will tell you you can not / should not put in dish washer and will need sharpening from time to time . This is the real deal .Not junk . Plan on purchasing additional units in this line . There are many from this manufacturer. Highly recommended .
