this tool was a good buy
well it's been 2 years since I bought it and it has really impressed me since 2 years is enough to know what I can do with this tool I'm not a mechanic I only bought it because I have a 2010 nissan rogue with more than 100000 miles and from experience I know that after 100,000 miles any car starts to have problems and some mechanics charge up to $100 to read the computer codes and pay for each time the engine light comes on, it is not cheap, this tool is very complete It not only reads the obd2 codes, it can also read other modules such as the transmission module, as an example of what can be done with this tool. A few months ago, the computer of my rogue was damaged and needed to be replaced, so I took it to several mechanics. to give me an idea of how much they would charge me to replace my computer and from $300 they did not lower the price but I was impressed when looking at the options of this tool I found that it is It not only reads you codes but you can also do things like replace the computer so I did it I bought a used computer for $50 on ebay and used the tool's options and incredible it's been several months and the used computer that I replaced hasn't It has given me no problem and if you are like me who prefers to do it yourself and save money, this tool will make you very useful and believe me that the price of this tool can be somewhat expensive but if you have an old car you will see that in the long run you will it will be cheaper

Lots of options in a smaller package (update 7/17/2020)
I originally purchased a much more expensive, larger, and not that much more powerful scanner for my DIY home use. I returned that and got the pros mini. It works great! Having the ability to graph and record any number of parameters is handy. It's small-but-big-enough size makes it convenient to use and easy to store. Boots up and loads pretty fast too. Battery life is several hours of continuous use. The one improvement suggestion for the software would be to group the parameters so you could access then quicker. My 2003 Ford has over fifty parameters I can monitor. They're laid out in alphabetical order so to select o2 sensors, fuel trims (short and long term), and MAF for instance, you have to scroll through a substantial list. You could have a search function or some kind of folders like when you're selecting your car origin. I'm having a lot of fun with this and learning a lot.Update 7/17/20:I've been using this for 8 months or so. I've had no problems at all. Hardly a day goes by that there's not some kind of software update. Speaking of updates, the subscription length is two years, which is double what most, if not all, are. Just to clarify the alphabetical listing of parameters described above, the problem is, for just one example, SHORT term fuel trim is nowhere near LONG term fuel trim on the list. Watching Youtube videos of other, way more expensive tools, the data points are grouped by function rather than just alphabetical. I don't know if other scan tools are like this, but to print anything, you have to have the Launch printer. There may be hacks out there I'm not aware of, or maybe I'm overlooking something. The onboard dongle storage is great! The obnoxious semi truck backing up sound it makes when exiting the program to remind you to recover your dongle is a nice feature, though probably not a huge concern for us DYI'ers working on our own cars. I'd definitely buy this again!

Good value but could use some improvement
I do like the features that this unit offers, as well as the 2 years of updates vs 1 on the comparable Autel readers. So far I have noticed some hiccups reading data from my 2001 Chevy Blazer, that required me to disconnect and reconnect to the bluetooth unit to allow access to the vehicle modules, but that was a minor inconvenience. The one thing I don't care for however and may end up being a deal breaker is the slow response to the sending of commands and updating of data, and this seems more prevalent on my 2001/2003 Volkswagen Jetta's so far, but I really don't care for the screen touch sensitivity as I find it doesn't want to register my touch. I'm having a tough time finding a screen protector that will fit this unit as well since none were provided, not even a protective cover from the factory that one could choose to leave on until it's worn and lifting at the edges, as most electronic devices/tablets seem to include nowadays (it seems like such a small detail, but lets be honest, you're working on a car and your hands/fingers are going to be dirty at some point and without protection, the screen is going to otherwise get scuffed up).All these things considered, so far it does what I need and at a more competitive price than others on the market. I will report back if anything changes and once I have more time to look into the slowness with the Volkswagen diagnostics.

Some thing wrong with this code reader
Ok, It is working a little strange. There is light a check engine on my car. This code reader shows me misfire cylinders all of them. I checked few times it shows again and again and possible cause of this blow gasket or something like this. In a couple of days, I bought a compression tester. Pressure in cylinders was normal !!I read code again with this code reader it does not show me any more misfire. It shows me some more codes and I have to buy some more tools to check it. I am not sure to believe this code reader or not?

Great product and easy to use!
I did a ton of reviews on auto diagnostic tools and bought the x431 based on reviews. I received my x431 pro mini a week ago and set it up without a hitch. I worked on my GMC 2004 Yukon with no problems at all, it read all systems great! Then I hooked it up to my 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 and so far, it has not been able to read the truck, but I am working with Launch to rectify the issue. It may be one of the vehicles not covered under Launch but should know soon. The Honda Accord sedan is next! Simple to use. Can’t wait to try some of the many other connectors on other car makes and models! Very intuitive and is worth the money spent vs. going to the dealers! Highly recommended.
