These things are amazing for cheap DMLs
I bought 7 of these for a complete surround sound system. Yes, i got the idea from Tech Ingredients on YouTube! I was initially not even remotely happy with them. I tried using them with the 24" x 24" foam panels you can get from the big box stores. The sound was really hollow. Even paired with a good quality subwoofer, there were a lot of frequencies missing. However, i realized two things - first, it was partly my fault for how i was mounting them. And second, they work way better with the acoustic ceiling tiles. In the picture, you can see the front five speakers - mains, center channel, and the "height" speakers for atmos. I also have another pair of them for the rear surround, mounted on the ceiling above the couch that viewers will be using. Everything sounds amazing, given the price. I love the way they look, and although the sound is not quite perfect, it's plenty good for my setup as a second media room. I bought these things on sale, paying $20 something for each. The ceiling tiles are $20 for a set of three. I made some mounts out of plywood with a little accent strip of scrap purpleheart. The tiles are hanging on some cheap black monofilament. So the entire 7 speaker setup was only about $200 dollars. Maybe $250 if you include the speaker wire and the paint i used. This was a very satisfying project, and was absurdly easy. The speakers sound good, and really fill the room with nondirectional sound. The frequency response is not perfect, but there are lots of things you can do to improve that - specifically by adding additional panels of different sizes and shapes down the road. If you want a weekend project to make some great conversation starting speakers that sound pretty great, buy these right away. I don't think you will regret it.

This is Sorcery!!!!
I will just say that I have owned many speakers over the years. Ranging from JBL Studio Drivers to Bose 901's....to Cerwin Vegas...to Klipsch, Polk....etc, etc. (For anybody wondering....yes, I am that old) When I saw the Youtube videos online, I had to try it. I had to see it work at all. Maybe I had been conditioned by my many years of speakers.....but to get any sound at all sounded a little far-fetched. I wondered if building speakers with these was akin to building that radio using one of these kits that kids can do. OK, you got some radio. Not ready to replace my home system with it though. And to get good sound? Voodoo.....Sorcery... I am here to tell you....it works. I used two of these with 1" thick foam board 2frx2ft. And the quality of the sound? OMG!!!!! This has left me re-thinking everything that I thought I knew in over 40 years of playing with speakers. Now to be fair, you can expect a pretty steep drop-off at approx the 200Hz range. There is no base...at all. But after building these speakers..(And a child can do it, in fact, I had my 10y/o child help me as a project), I paired them with a cheap little amp that had Bluetooth and a sub out with power....... along with an old car sub that I had laying around. The sound is fantastic. It is a very natural sound...a little bright, but not overly emphasized at any level. The stage is fantastic. The separation is equally so. I prefer a little warmer but it was easy to adjust that. I am not prepared to say that these are the best speakers that I have ever heard. BUT HOLY CRAP!!!! To get better...you are going to have to really step up your game and be prepared to easily spend north of a $1,000. I wondered if it would be a good sound like a little Bluetooth speaker is a great sound. Tiny, not much to it. OH NO....this is room-filling sound. This has volume. These are VERY efficient. While you can tell a difference if you standing in front of them, vs off to the side, they are far better than many speakers and much less noticeable. I will caution you....if you make these and hang them, do not use metal on metal contacts anywhere in the mounting. I had metal hooks connected to metal cotter pins and I had terrible noise, to the point that I wondered if I blew something. As soon as tied fishing line to the cotter pins and removed the hooks, the noise totally went away.

These are amazing for surround
These are amazing to use for surround/Atmos height speakers. For music if you EQ them. As mains? Not so much as they produce distributed sound, there's no focus for dialogue. Keep that in mind if you're building a home theater you'll still need a center speaker and a pair of mains. And of course a sub. As surround you stick them to drywall inside the wall or ceiling, and they will produce lower frequencies, down to <80hz, when the drywall panel is large enough. And they're efficient, 40w will produce sound comparable to speakers rated at x2+ power; you wouldn't have to worry about surround not being able to handle output.

Excellent
I used two of these mounted inside my 3/4 inch plywood helm console on my pontoon boat, powered by a 25w hidden bluetooth amplifier. Even with that less than ideal application I get acceptable sound quality (for a pontoon boat). I can only imagine how much better these sound in a more appropriate application. In the photo they are mounted to the inside of the console facing the port side. Audio emanates from the entire console. Very happy with the outcome.

Perfect secret golf cart sound system
Sounds fantastic mounted inside the roof of my 2018 EZGO TXT. By cutting a small 4" flap overhead of driver and passenger seat the transducers fit perfectly. Wired to a small 12v bluetooth amplifier and the sound isn't Klipsch quality but I was impressed. Many comments on lack of bass but I found them sufficient. Fun testing them on surfaces like plastic debris containers (loads of bass). I see carts with huge car stereos and massive speakers mounted on carts and wanted a more stealthy system. It will be interesting.

This product is definitely worth the purchase. I recommend this product to everyone. You will not go wrong. I have built 6 DML's (panel speakers) and friends and family can't believe the quality and loudness of these little units. I have orders to build more speakers. Even total strangers have heard my system and they want me building them a stereo system. One more thing...the Fosi Audio amp (you can purchase these amps here on Amazon) is what I use to power these DML's. Remember... match the exciter with the amp before you purchase. So don't wait for Christmas...MAKE YOUR PURCHASE NOW BECAUSE IF YOU SNOOZE YOU LOOSE!!!

Bought these for building a multi-room speaker setup. Matched my expectations 100%. Superb high/mid-range delivery. For bass you'll need an external subwoofer, but that was expected.
