Polar Lights Star Trek Discovery USS Enterprise - 1/2500 Scale Snap Assembly Plastic Model Kit - Buildable Spaceship for Kids and Adults (POL971M)

Great model of the enterprise from discovery. Experimenting with modeling again and making lighted diaramas in my book shelf unit.Glow paints inside the bossard collectors make the engines look beautiful with black lights. The photos are before real UV lighting arrived and just a near setting that allows the reds and orange paints really glow. Still needs another paint and the decals but enjoying the project and love the model.

I haven't opened it, but I know I'm going to have fun putting it together one day. Mainly a collector now, purchasing products, I will become hobbyist later and put all my purchases together. Excellent purchase and series I might ad.

This was a delightfully simple kit to paint and assemble. I chose to spend a few days working on it as opposed to finishing it off within a day. The detail is mid-range but still nice for the scale, however, there lies the rub. As noted by many others that have bought and assembled this kit, it would be nice if the final product was actually close to or at least the 12 inches in assembled length as stated on the box. I knew it wouldn't be from past reviewers of this model that stated that was the proposed size from the manufacturer of the kit but they scaled it down. The skin decals were easy to apply and are very robust in comparison to decals found in the other Star Trek offerings from this model company. Even the smallest of decals were easy to manipulate and place. It would've been nice if the kit was larger as that would make the asking price more palatable. If you purchase this kit, take your time and enjoy the build. Otherwise, you might end up finishing it off within a couple of hours. Enjoy!

One discrepancy is the size shown on the back of the box. It is actually 7 1/2 inches long.

This model is way over priced, it should cost only 10 dollars . Where do I begin , I purchased this model for my sons birthday . He opened it up with such excitement to a tremendous disappointment, model was much smaller than expected and there were no decals in the sealed box . How could they forget to put the decals in the box and it did not come with instructions . I would not recommend this product to anyone . Tremendous disappointment , I purchased it because it was a Polar Lights model and my husband and children have been building Polar light models for years . Not this time Polar Lights very big disappointment. !!!

Model is tiny. Way smaller than I expected.

The design of this ship is awesome, capturing everything I liked about the Original USS Enterprise. Would love to see them make this ship in the 1/1000 scale next !
