Hardwired: The Hacker Series #1

It's been quite a long time since a book took such complete possession of my attention...filling me with angst for a complete fictional character. But Ms. Wild did it, and boy does she do it with total, perfect precision. Never has a suspenseful romantic story completely captivated me since  Consequences (Volume 1)  (which is a dark romantic suspense)... This story caused me to neglect such mundane things like....life in general. It held me emotionally enthralled within its limited time frame. I was completely, emotionally invested....no...make that emotionally addicted to Erica's plight and Blake Landon's interest in her.Erica Hathaway just graduated from Harvard with honors and she's eager to start the next chapter of her life away from campus. She's founder and CEO of a fashion social network that she's created with the help of friends. Erica is a petite, long wavy blond haired, cool blue eyed beauty with trust issues. She was sexually assaulted when she was eighteen and still suffers trauma from her attack. She's not only smart...she's intelligent, driven and stubborn. (I wish I knew how old she is....)He's tall and toned...he has hazel-green eyes and "mussed-just-right" dark brown hair and a devilishly gorgeous smile that can weaken your knees... Sweet baby geebus but he's hawt... with a calm, controlled demeanor. Blake Landon (27) is a self made billionaire who exudes confidence and command. He's powerful in the business world and beyond. He's domineering, controlling and a bit arrogant; but he also can be kind, tender and very sweet. And when he meets Erica, he becomes obsessed with her.This is one of those fabulous roller coaster rides that gives a total "body grab"...the ride that causes your tummy to flip. It completely engulfed me making me incapable of putting the story down. Nothing got done...everything was neglected...and if I WAS able to set the story down briefly, my concentration was worthless...completely gone as I could think of nothing but getting back to my story. I loved this story and Ms. Wild hit that ball outta the park with this fabulous plot of romance and a bit of suspense. This author has the fantastic ability/talent (or at least this humble reader thinks so..), of portraying and unfolding each scene to its zenith with technicolor and brilliant clarity building to a fabulous ear splitting crescendo. Before the reader is even aware what has happened, the Author has you captured and enthralled with the storyline as it deepens and the plot thickens. Character descriptions are pretty much spot on, but could've been stronger (with our H/h). Dialogue is original and well balanced with just enough narration told in first person. I loved how Ms. Wild painstakingly draws the reader into a slightly mysterious, yet sweet and intriguing romantic plot and leads us, inch by wonderfully delicious slow inch, through each step and phase of progression of Erica and Blake's hawt connection. Ms. Wild so capably and thoroughly conveys the angst and drama that Erica finds herself in...as well as the wonderful progression and raw excitement of the newness of the beginning of a hawt mutual connection between two people. Outstanding. There's no rush and because Ms. Wilds' talented capabilities..because of her expert writing, the reader has no choice but to feel connected as one with the main characters...there is no other alternative than to fall into the emotional romantic excitement . The journey is absolutely exquisite and delightful throughout. It never loses momentum. I loved the attraction between Erica and Blake and how it quickly grew into a raging inferno. She's soft to his hard- - she's sunshine to his dark. She's innocence to his roughness. And he quickly becomes lost without her. She becomes his reason to plan a tomorrow. I absolutely LOVED how she unintentionally made mincemeat out of his best controlling intentions. She not only becomes his reason for breathing...she becomes the very air itself. She's the thrum of his pulse and every whisper of his conscience....and he is hers. Erica is just as consumed with him. Brilliant Ms. Wild. Absolutely brilliant.

Erica is a brand new graduate from Harvard with a social media website she started in school, now looking for funding to take it to the next step. Blake is a multibillionaire who started as a hacker but now heads a funding group. So obviously his group is who she presents to for funding. He is (of course) rich, dominant, complex and instantly in lust with Erica. He is a million secrets it seems, and wants to control her every aspect of her life. Sounds familiar? Yeah, to me too honestly. Erica has some issues of her own. They start a relationship, which of course is complicated by exes, siblings, friends with secrets, previously unknown parents, etc., etc., etc.When I purchased this on a whim I didn't realize it was going to be a multibook series, which honestly isn't my thing. It is still going and now looks to be at least 5 books long. This ends on a cliffy, not really in terms of their relationship (though that isn't a HEA), but just in the plot line. Four books are written already it seems with #5 due out in 2015. I'm not sure how many are planned.I'm not sure I will continue the series, just because this style is not my thing really. That said, this book was interesting and well written, 4 stars for that. It has a lot of interesting factors, and I like the main characters so far, but I'm not willing anymore to get invested in reading about couples that go on for book after book with endless drama. I'll have to think on that. If that is something you like though, the multiple books one couple style, this is probably a great series for you, and my "negatives" with regard to continuing the series have nothing to do with the writing and rather just my preference.

Hardwired is the first book of Meredith Wild's Hacker Series. The series is 5 books long, and I had heard a lot of good things about it so decided to read it.The first book is told in the main female character's point of view, her name is Erica Hathaway. She has just graduated from College and despite her life being so hard at times, she has managed not only graduate but start up her own social fashion site called Clozpin, with the help of her best friend Allie, and Sid, who manages to make sure they stay on line- he is their computer guy!After school is out, at the suggestion of one of her professors, she has gone to a company named Angelcom to seek funding for her company. This is where she runs into Blake Landon, who is on their board. When they meet, something passes between them, and even though he votes against her presentation, she does get another member, Max, to look into her company and give her a chance.Blake Landon is God's gift to womankind. Tall, handsome, sarcastic, but he is a male alpha billionaire, and a controlling one at that. Erica knows he is trouble from the get go and yet she can't help but be attracted to him, despite knowing he is not interested in her company.Deciding to go to Las Vegas to be a panelist at a convention Erica is asked to be on at the last minute to be a part of, Erica and Alli get ready and go. After settling in they go out to the casino floor and Blake is there, and calls out to Erica! His brother Heath is with him also, who Alli finds attractive immediately! They gamble together and then go eat, and alli leaves with Heath. The next day Erica realizes the reason she is in Las Vegas is because Blake wanted her there!I do not want to say anything else except after this point things heat up and it gets really interesting, to say the least. All kinds of situations come up and no matter what she has to do Blake is always there a step ahead of her making sure he gets everything he wants from Erica, even to the point of making sure she moves into his building!Aside from all of this there are a lot of things going on in the background, that keeps the plot moving along quite fast, and there is no way to figure out what is going to happen, and it keeps things really interesting. There is also a lot of emotional and sexual angst, and a lot of intense well described sex scenes that make this book really good, we have romance, mystery, sexual encounters and everything you can want in a good book. The end of the book is not a massive cliffhanger however one knows they have to read the next book, Hardpressed, to see how things turn out!I gave this book 5***** emotional stars, and can't wait for the next book in this series! Do yourself a favor and read this book!

Absolutely love the Hacker Series, so I had to buy the books for my personal library. The covers of all five books are similar, which looks great on my shelves. I can't talk about the content of the book, as it would spoil the story for future readers, but I can tell you one thing: This is a must-read book and series in general!PS: I ordered my book on here from a second-hand seller, thus why the cover is a little damaged. It is not a new book. Pictures are there to show you the cover and the content.

I LOVE this book! Meredith is just an excellent author! This book pulled me in from the first page. I absolutely LOVE the way Erica and Blake meet. I won't spoil it, but it had me laughing a little. They are super cute, and Blake can be so sweet! This book will have you laughing, worrying, asking what is he/she thinking, make you mad a little (or at least it did me), and wishing you were Erica! I love that it's a 5 book series and I'm excited to read the rest of their story and find out what happens!

After reading fifty shades of grey and the cross fire series I was looking for something else too read and was suffering from withdrawl. I came across this series and I couldnt put the book down. I finished book one over the weekend and ordered book two and threee right away. Really good book it was exactly what I was looking for and so much more. If you liked fifty shades and crossfire then I'm sure you'll love this one.

I stumbled across this book by happy accident and all I can say is WOW! I was literally gripped from the first page and the minute I finished it I went on to buy the 2 sequels instantly.Everything about this book I loved - The writing, the characters, the romance. I especially loved that there was enough sexual content to make it realistic but not turn it into a seedy book. There was never a dull moment, I think I even might have cried at one point during the read! haI highly recommend this book and I will be looking out for more from Meredith Wild.

This is all it promised and more, Christian has nothing on Blake Landon can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next, could not put this down until I was finished, LOVED IT
