surprized
i did not expect this lamp to be as nice as it is. i like the bright light that can be adjusted and the magnification as well. i am enjoying it even though it is not a heavy duty lamp;, it works for me.

Good for open floor space
I bought this to go beside my desk however the base is so large, it doesn't fit where I need it. The lamp itself is sturdy and on the heavier side so the wider base is probably necessary for stability. The light is bright which was the main goal, however, like my previous magnified floor lamp, the bulb part is LED and not replaceable (that I've found), so once it dies, the whole lamp has to be trashed - bad for the environment and my pocketbook. If I were working in a profession with more open floor space around the workstation it would be great. It might also work in a spacious home next to a couch or chair for crafts, however it takes up about the same amount of space as an end table (roughly 30" square). My wish for a future version - same or even brighter light, smaller base, remote control for on/off and brightness adjusting, and most importantly replacement LED ring.

It would be hard to make this cheaper.
On the good side, the dimmable light can be very bright, and the magnification is good at the center. On the bad side, the base is so light that the unit is top-heavy and unstable. The material fells light and flimsy. I still had the base from an older lamp, and I used that and threw the supplied base away. The arm does not have much play. I also had to lubricate it when I first got it or listen to it squeak each time it was moved. It is almost impossible to adjust the head. The arm swings up instead of out and up. Moving it away from the work means tipping your head back or getting smacked on the chin by the unit. The unit does magnify, but it distorts around the edges making the available work space small, which means frequent adjustments which are very hard to do.I've ordered a new lamp, and will get great pleasure from throwing this on in the trash.

Very sturdy and bright
This mag lamp is stable and brightness is adjustable, both which are very important while I’m performing extractions during a client’s facial. It’s very easy to adjust the height and angle of the lamp without worrying that the lamp will hit/fall on a client’s face. The lamp can either be used on the wheels it came with making it somewhat portable or it can be attached to a table/wall through it’s clamp.

Love my lamp!
Works perfect for me. Only problem I had was light stopped working right around the 1 year anniversary of buying it but the company sent me a new one. They stand behind their products and want to make the customer happy. That's enough for me to want to be a regular customer of this seller. Best customer service! 5 star rating from me.

DOES THE JOB... however
While this item gets 5 stars for Thickness, Dollar Value and Sheerness (I took this for clarity), I had to remove a few stars because no matter how much I try, I am unable to tighten the screw that holds the angle of the glass itself enough to hold the glass at the right angle and keep it there and so it moves, drops and tilts. Another aspect which is just for me not not necessarily for others, is the strength of the magnification. Another negative feature is that there is no adjustment available to tight the joint for raising and lowering the arm. Also, the screw that goes into the hole to hold the light pole into the base is not long enough to go through the base so it does not hold - so if I need to move the entire thing while in it's floor base, I need to move it from the direct bottom only. Those negativities are NOT a deal breaker though. Read On -->The positive things I like about this are that I have the option to remove the light from the floor base and put it on the included clamp to put it directly on my workbench and that clamp is big enough to use on a thick benchtop unlike other clamps available. I also like being able to adjust the power of the light from very light to strong. The size of the glass is very large so that I don't need to keep moving it while I am working on a project. I've had trouble with past magnifiers that they warped my project (which made me nauseated - this is very clear. On the whole - this is a good product and worth purchasing if you can deal with the negatives. I plan to have my husband take the pin out of the one joint and put in a wingnut screw to tighten it to keep it in place once adjusted to the angle I need. I also plan to have my husband either replace the current screw that holds it in the base with a longer one. He already told me he knows how to fix the one that holds the angle of the magnifer head. I just feel that we shouldn't have to fix a brand new item we paid a lot of money for in the first place.
