Two drive slots - for the space of one!
If you've a yen for swapping drives in and out of your PC, then this device will enable you to do that.It has a single SATA power connection, but then has two data connectors, one for the 2.5in format drive (either SSD or an HDD rotating drive!) and a second 3.5in HDD. There's a power switch to operate on the front (takes the power off both drives) as well as latching clips for each drive to enable you to pull each drive out, independently. One little niggle: the lever for the 2.5in drive has an outward bend in it: this could be a problem if the device is fitted tight behind the case's front door.Using this drive enables one to have a series of SSDs (and associated HDDs) such that it is possible to have a computer which can operate under different OSes without being a dual-boot device. This might be useful for anyone who's a Windows user but who wants to try learning Linux without any possibility of messing up their Windows installation!!

... this to replace a caddy based device and am pleased with the results
I have used this to replace a caddy based device and am pleased with the results. It saves space as the 3.5 and 2.5" bays can be used at the same time and the drives operate at Sata 6Gbps rates, plus it doesn't protrude so far into the case. The front usb 3.0 ports are great but you need to have a motherboard with a spare USB 3.0 internal header - a problem if your case has 3.0 ports as well. Closing the doors with a drive in place can need a bit more pressure than I like using, but otherwise very pleased and would recommend.

Works really well and the build quality is excellent.Plug and play ability (push a drive in and it appears in explorer) may be down to the age of your mother board. I have and old Dell Vista machine that I use for rescuing data from other peoples hard drives when their PCs have died. To use it in this requires a reboot for the new drive to be seen. I've now fitted it in to a newer motherboard and it works fine.

Flawed quality
Strange build quality, metal frame / mechanism / USB side 5/5 but the connector placement and strength is vvv poor breaking off the second time they were touched - maybe a one off but still...

All great except for the faulty SATA cables
First of all, the bay itself works perfectly. I have zero issues with the bay or its operation. Although one thing I will say is that you must make sure your hard drive can utilise hot swapping (and that you set the chosen drives to be hot swappable in the BIOS) if you want to use this bay properly. My only gripe is that the supplied SATA cables didn't work. Fortunately I had some spare.
