Millennium Lock TUL 3000 Series Ultimate Lock Residential, 4000 lbs Force, Satin Nickel

After searching and searching the local hardware stores and even Amazon trying to find a lock that could not be picked or bumped. This lock, though expensive, does all that and more. It is also built super strong to withstand someone trying to slam something against the door to open it. I used 5 inch screws in my door instead and this made for more piece of mind. This lock is not messing around. It also has a nice finish to in and has lasted. It is a big lock and I am hopeful that it will withstand someone banging on it. I also like the lockout feature. With the button next to the lock pushed in, you cannot unlock it; even with the key! This locks the lock further keeping people from accessing your house. They could even drill out the lock and it would still not unlock. This lock is great. I have a greater piece of mind now sleeping at night.

These are a hassle to install and once installed, it doesn't work. That being said, when you turn the bolt with the key, it will fully deploy, which is great if you are locking from the outside. However, to bolt it from the inside, when you turn the knob it sticks, it will not fully deploy. If you twist harder, the internal brass bar connected to the knob just torques and will end up bent like a brass linguine noodle. I saw the video where the guy tries to kick in the door but it won't budge, fantastic! But if you if you can't throw bolt and lock it from the inside, that feature does you no good at all. It took me a while to install this so I'm told I can't return it. But at least I can help you not to waste your time and money (and also all wood you need to chisel off your door jamb) by buying this piece of @#*&^.

It is a very effective lock, however, it is too bulky and difficult to install. The long screws that are supplied with the kit are soft and their heads tear off easily.

By far the most secure lock I have found. The dual locking bolts really make a much more secure door. I recommend them for any exterior doors. Just be careful about the pin lock on it. Once pushed in its impossible to unlock the door from the outside even with a key. Every lock can fail, but at least with this one it will delay anyone enough to call for help or be ready to counter any attackers.

All the marketing behind seems exagerated and better to use mortise lock with abloy cylinder and deadbolt or schlage twin offers of lever lock and deadbolt with better protection

8/28/2013 I finished installing the 3000 S ULTIMATE LOCK; it is just amazing. My apartment was broken in 2 weeks ago; the express looters just kicked my door open in the middle of the day like nothing and stole 2 laptops, 2 xboxes, chargers and my watch; they didn't care for my 2 big LEDs, New PC and 2 printers. I live in a good and "secured" big apartment complex. I used to feel safe and secure; no more. I have been since then researching on Internet how to minimize that kind of events. And I found out that the best way is through layers; I installed an Alarm system and NIGHTLOCK , Posted Security System's decals on my door and windows; but still I knew that when I am outside they could just kick the door open and express loot my apartment again; some thieves don't mind the loud alarms and in 1 minute they are gone. I was looking for something to make my door securer against this kinds of burglaries without making extreme modifications to my apartment door; of all the solutions that I found the ULTIMATE LOCK seemed the best ; However, I was really skeptical about his real life performance. I have to say after removing my "super secure" stock apartment dead bolt; I realized how weak and cheap it felt in comparison with the ULTIMATE LOCK; I was even scared and surprised how ease is to break a deadbolt and that is not even the weakest part; the real Achilles' heel of the door is the strike plate. After all the process of installation I am now 100% sure that anyone is going to have a really hard time kicking the door open. I won't give 5 start to this amazing product because I had a hard time installing the lock; in part was my fault because I din't read the instruction carefully but even though I had to do some modification to my door and door frame; and second my hinges are on the left side; so the lock has to be install upside down and for me that is a very big design flaw; now everything turns to the opposite direction. it feels counter intuitive. Other than that it is solid as a rock!!!! a beautiful piece of engineering. I was so happy after installing the lock that I wanted it the thieves to come back and try to defeat my ULTIMATE LOCK.

I really wanted to like this product but I have now received 2 of these that the finish was worn off and "chewed up" looking brand new in the package. Imagine the outside wear and rust it will have in a year if the finish wears off sitting in the package. You can keep your doors from being kicked in by using a minimum of 3" screws on the hinges of your door and strike plate so what I was wanting out of this lock was the anti-bump feature. So I will have to look for something else. Don't buy this product, it's complete junk.
