ALBER'S Corn Meal
The only corn meal that my mom ever used was Albers Corn Meal. Unlike all the other so-called light colored corn meals that look like it's mixed with flour, Albers is the real deal! I was born and raised in California. I now live in Texas. Albers Corn Meal, nor is Alber's Grits sold in any of the many Texas grocery stores that I have shopped in. I'm grateful that I was able to order Albers from Amazon, but also ridiculous that I had to pay close to $20 for a two-pack of the Alber's corn meal. For me, there is no other corn meal that compare. By the way, I am 65 years old, and I remember my mom making good corn bread and baking in a cast iron skillet. Oh so good!

Makes great cornbread
Can't get this on the East coast it came in fresh packing and the cornbread you make from this is great! The texture and the fact that it is gluten free is a plus.

The best cornmeal
I’ve used Albers cornmeal to make cornbread in California for decades. It’s also been essential for making cornbread dressing for turkey on Thanksgiving. I don’t like overly-sweet “cakey” cornbread, I like it to have some crunch and a pronounced corn taste. We retired to South America nine years ago and there is only corn flour available, primarily for making arepas. Wrong texture, blah taste. This year I wanted to get some cornmeal from the US and a friend visiting Texas said he’d bring me back a couple of boxes. He couldn’t find Albers anywhere (is it not sold in Texas?) and bought a local brand. Again, too cakey, no corn flavor, ugh. So, I ordered two boxes of Albers on Amazon and had them brought to us by a shipping service. It was worth the $9/pound I had to pay, there is just no substitute for Albers.

I did not like anything about this product. Don’t like it. Don’t use it ordered-by mistake.
