Decent for price - be aware of the cargo bag
Bought this for a road trip from FL to NC. The quality of the rack is decent, one of the bars came bent so had to use a metal pipe to straighten it out. I put a couple of coats of rhino liner on it and sealed the bolts to prevent rust. I didn't use the straps provided or the cargo net. I just ratchet strapped everything down and it was perfect. Overall, it looks great on my 4runner and for the price it's not bad at all. However, the "weatherproof" bag is not so weatherproof. We spent about 2 hours total driving through rain and when we got home, our bags were soaked. Everything was sealed appropriately but a lot of water still got in. Luckily our luggage is hard shell so only our duffle bag was wet.

Decent Product for the Price
I chose this product for two reasons -- (1) the price point and (2) the style. Compared to more expensive products that look similar, this served the purpose. The design is nice, assembly is super easy, and installation on the vehicle was easy too. I did have to purchase crossbars before I could install it on top of my 4Runner.The product is lightweight (a plus). Once assembled it is sturdy. But...A few things to be aware of with this product.1. It looks smaller than expected meaning I was anticipating something longer after the extension to increase the length and something that sat a little higher. Not a deal-breaker.2. The product is already showing signs of rust on the lower bars at the seals, for the duration I have had this attached to the vehicle and the weather conditions of where I reside this is terribly disappointing. One way to combat this is to repaint it before install with either a rust proof paint or rubberized sealant on the bottom.3. The configuration of the product (the design of the sections, how they attach to one another, and the width of the bars themselves) made it awkward to attach to the crossbars. It is a universal fit but you have to get creative to have it sit level and flush. The mounting brackets do not fit all crossbars perfectly (just be aware prior to purchasing).4. Like most roof racks there will be wind vibration and some noise (whistling). There are DIY tricks to limit this but the overall design is such that you can expect some wind resistance, especially at higher speeds.Would I recommend this product? Overall, yes I would based upon the overall design, price, and look. Sure, you can get more expensive products that look the same, but depending on your cost appetite, intended use, and vehicle this is a good purchase.

Great Product...when you finally force it together....
I bought this item based on price, size, weight and how easy it looked to assemble. The item came very well shipped with plenty of protection around the bars. Once you get that off, it is basically self explanatory on how to put it together, however, the instructions are straight forward and easy to read and understand. Upon inspection of the pieces out of the box, there were some of the side flares and corners of some bars that were scratched slightly...looked like before it was packed. Getting the main assembly and extension together was easy. The problem starts after that point. The side flares clip on the sides and there are 2 screws to put in each one. Trying to get the screws in took me awhile as I moved the flairs around to try and get them line up with the holes in the bars. The "roll out" of the metal on the flares was clearly not QA'd. Some were crooked and there were 2 of the flairs I had to screw the screws in askew to get it to secure. The 1 rear flare also had hole misalignment. I also had to force this one together. This took way to much time to find the right spot. After getting it together, the front flare was easy to install, and after the install of my cross-bars, I had to make sure the pads at the bottom of the basket aligned with the cross-bars. The clipped in pads at the bottom of the basket was another problem. They "snap" in on the underside between 2 rungs of the basket. 3 of them went in fine, but one was very very difficult to snap in because the rungs were misaligned slightly to the point that the pad did not want to go in. It took all of my might to get it on finally. Once again, another QA issue with the production of the product. Another issue, which was mentioned in an earlier review, was the U-bolts should have been slightly longer. Mine fit up through the clamp and metal piece with "barely" enough thread remaining to get the 2 knobs on to secure it to the crossbars. There are 2 ways to solve this...either make the u-bolts longer, which wouldn't be desirable as they already stick up into the basket taking room and limiting the cargo in which can be placed in there...or, use different knobs that the threading starts at the bottom of the knob rather than halfway through the knob, so they catch immediately...this would be an easy fix for the company. It took me a long time to find the "exact" point on both knobs to be able to catch the threading on both of them and secure it down. I put a "Trailhawk" vinyl sticker on the front flaring for styling. It looks really good on my Trailhawk and would be a 5 star product had a QA process been done. Overall, even through the struggles of getting it assembled, this seems like a sturdy product that is pleasing to the eye. One more suggestion would be to add a connector of sorts on the small rungs between the 2 main pieces and the extensions...having a space in between just looks dumb and incomplete. I do believe this to be a great value for the money and fit on my Trailhawk perfectly, and also only has a 6" height, so I still can fit in my garage. Hope this review helps others make the critical decision of an easy install, or one where you have to forceably have to assemble or possibly use tools not intended.

A few thousand miles and a few thoughts
I have put about 3500 miles on this roof rack and here is my opinion,Pros:Can hold a ton of stuff.Lots of tie down points.little wind noise.Ease to assemble.Attaches firm and clamps down. Can put on and take off alone.Cons:Bends when you crank the straps down (expected). All the weld joints have begun to rust in the first few uses.I would purchase this rack again it works very well. If you do buy it just know that you may need to coat all the weld joints or you will get rust spots on your vehicle!

Very nice
This was very lightweight and fit perfect for our Tucson, however…my spouse and 16 year old were helping me put it together, everything was fine until we tried to mount it. The illustrations were not at all helpful and we had three different opinions on how to attach it, and we were all wrong! We had to look through some photos that previous purchasers were kind enough to take.We still haven’t left for our cross country trip from California to Maryland, so we’ll update later, but so far no problems driving with it around town and the highways.
