Dig a hole in the soil and the put the stake into soil! When you put the bottle into the stake, be reasonably gentle. If you slam the bottle in hard, or push it in, you can break the stake. Just gently rest the bottle in the stake. Especially for heavy bottle, you need to insert almost the whole stakes into the soil so that the stake will not topple and fall.
