Perfect for the price
Some of the reviews were mediocre, but for the price, you really cant go wrong. I needed to take photos of our vacation rental property and did not want to pay $400 for a professional photographer. I set up lights and attached this to my Nikon DSLR, and took great pictures. There is some shadowing around the top edge of the photos, but nothing I can't fix with editing. Although, most of the photos do not have any shadowing. If you want a perfect wide angle lens, then spend the extra money, if you want an adequate lens for little money, this is for you. I now have professional looking photos and spent less than $12, perfect!

Inexpensive accessory
I purchased this lens to go with my Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. The low price caught my eye, and it works as expected... for the most part. Let me explain.Build quality on this product is very good and each lens (macro and wide angle) work for their intended purposes. They fit together for shipment and storage, and you unscrew them from each other to put them on the end of a 52mm lens. The product I received was a Vivitar brand 0.43x Professional Wide Angle Lens with Macro, which can use 62mm lens filters. It comes with a Lifetime Warranty, and includes a carrying case and caps. It weighs 4.7 ounces. The wide angle is adequate, but not exceptional in its clarity or width. You do get a 'halo' effect - black corners, which happens with wide angle lenses, which is also present with this lens. The macro lens was OK - does what its supposed to do on 'auto' and manual settings, but I find that the Macro setting on the D3300 (no macro lens used) does a much better job at providing a clear, sharp image. With the macro lens, photos had significant blur (out of focus) on the edges - far more than without the lens using the camera alone. So is this item for you? Well, at less than ten bucks it's a potentially fun accessory - especially the wide angle lens. However, if you plan on getting sharp macro images from the included lens - you may be disappointed. I'll be forgoing the macro lens in favor of the DSLR Macro mode, but since the product was so inexpensive I don't feel like I'm really out anything on this purchase.--------------------Added photos: phone (black) macro with shadow from flash, flower with significant lack of focus on edges, desktop without wide angle and then with wide angle lens used.

Worth every penny for simple youtube videos.
This works great! Worth every penny for simple youtube videos. I adapter my camcorder from 37mm to this 52mm... thus eliminating the vignetting that I would get from a smaller wide angle lens. For what its worth it makes my little camcorder look beefier and more professional... it gets attention!

Simply, awesome...
For the price, I was expecting "okay", since I have a lot of other more "expensive" gear, so my expectations, I confess, were not necessarily all that "high". But I needed a "back up" and I thought, for the price, this one might due. Well, it does that and more.Love the construction and the "feel". It's not a cheap knock-off and it certainly dares to rival some of the more expensive pieces that I own.Bottom line, whether used as a backup or a primary, I really think that this one fits both applications.

Great price for what it is. Not intended for pro use.
I give 5 stars on the price of this product and 4 stars on the quality of the macro lens. The wide angle lens is a different story however. It does what it says and gives your current lens a wider FOV, effectively simulating ~8mm on an 18mm lens. The issue with it is the curved glass causes serious vignetting, sun spots/ lens glare, and a "focus ring" that gives the effect of a poorly simulated tiltshift lens (a circle of focus in the center of the image, everything outside the image is blurred). I've attached an image that exhibits all 3 of these issues. Definitely a good buy for a hobbyist, or anyone since it's only $15, but no bueno if you're trying to do professional work.

Wide angle and macro photography at a budget price.
Nice lens for the price and it does both wide angle and macro nicely. To install the lens you simply screw on to any 52mm lens. My clear lens protector screws on and off very smoothly but the conversion lens binds just little. This condition may smooth out over time with use and I suppose that a small dab of silicon grease on the threads would help, too. I honestly didn't expect much for the price paid but I was pleasantly surprised. Can't really comment on image quality since my intended use is for my personal photography. The pics I've shot so far look good to me and I'm not really interested in professional results. Shooting pics on the cheap? I recommend this. It comes in small bag and has protective covers at both ends, nice.

blurry pictures - even if u are not a professional photographer
Got it yesterday. the inner case had mold on the outside... some mold was on the lens attachment as well. I have decided to try it anyway - took a few pictures - once with and once without this attachment. The size difference was minimal yet the quality of the pictures was significantly low than without this wide angle attachment and actually even for my unprofessional standards the quality was badBTW, the macro was even worse - I could not focus and see anything with thatDon't think it worth the money - don't recommend buying this product for no reason. I am sending mine back!

Being a Realtor this works great. When taking pictures with the regular format it doesn't give the room justice on the size. Using this it doesn't falsify the room size. It does make them look bigger, but it helps greatly. And so far, have not had any complaints about the rooms looking big and then end up being small. This lens is great.
