The BEST company and the very best products - all my Garden tools are B+D etc. So I buy B+D when ever I can. There was nothing wrong with the Dehumidifier - This one just did not work in my situation so they were wonderful in returning it and everything worked out. And I would recommend B+D Products always!

I ordered a new dehumidifier. The one I received arrived in a carton that had been opened before and been strapped shut. The coasters (wheels) that were supposed to be included to make the unit movable were not included in the package. Also, the adapter that makes it usable as a continuous draining model was also not included. I clearly got a used unit missing all the extra parts. It can't even stand on the level. Am trying to see what I can do to send it back, but had to cut the straps to open the box. Don't even have a box to ship it in.This is a post script written three weeks later. I contacted both Black and Decker and Amazon by phone promptly about my issues and both were extremely receptive and responsive. Amazon arranged a replacement machine of the same model and pickup of the old machine within one week (actually three days) of my contacting them. Of course I still had to deal with the lack of a box, but fortunately, with enough tape I was able to put a reconstruction of the box together enough to satisfy the UPS pickup. Luckily, the styrofoam inserts on either end were still intact. The new unit came with all the parts. It assembled quickly and easily and worked perfectly out of the box except ..... We use our dehumidifier in continuous mode using a drain line to a shower stall in the basement. Black and Decker thoughtfully provides a plastic hose that fits to the unit in a flash to facilitate this. But the hose comes wrapped in a coil with about half a dozen kinks which won't relax. I gave up after two days of letting the hose relax - even shoving a rod through it overnight. Finally I just hooked up a garden hose. Now we have success and a dry basement. Black and Decker has a perfect hose system, but the packaging of the hose compromises it greatly.I pondered changing my review to a three star because customer response like that from Black and Decker and Amazon should be rewarded. That kind of service would not hinder me, personally, from doing business with them again and everybody makes the occasional mistake. But I am going to leave it as a one star because if there is a customer that absolutely has to have the product work correctly the first time out of the box, my experience might be helpful for comparison.

I have had this product for over a year. It has been providing good service. however, right after the warranty expired, the drain pump stopped working. Found a submersible pump that would work with the humidifier control electronics. It's a bit of effort to deal with the submersible pump when emptying the bucket for plant water, but not bad. As a dehumidifier, it's working great!

Bought this unit WITH PUMP to replace unit that had indeed expired. Plugged it in, at 79% house humidity, and it took only 1 day to bring that number down to 45% in a 3400 square foot home. Bought the one available with a pump, have the drain hose that comes with it directly to the basement drain, and it's running right now, with an outside humidity currently at 78%. Would not hesitate to buy again.

I love that is has a drain pipe to allow for constant flow of the water collected. This way you do not need to continue to empty tank. Keeps my basement so dry and is quiet while running. Automatic setting turns dehumidifier on and off when necessary for easy self regulation.

I bought this to use in my basement which has high humidity. Unfortunately, it just didn’t cut it. The humidity level was consistently at 50% despite being set at 35%. I also did not like that there’s a basin that fills up before the water is pumped out. That means there’s always some amount of standing water (albeit enclosed). I’ve since spent a little more money on a basinless dehumidifier made for crawl spaces that will drain directly down to the floor drain. Within hours it got the humidity from 50% to 35%.This just wasn’t the right tool for the job for my situation.

This dehumidifier met all my needs for a basement of about 1500 sqft. I run it pretty much 24/7. For convenience sake, I used a garden hose hookup and set it up to drain out the basement window. Of note, the pump works well but not against gravity. It is best to place the humidifier above the point of drainage as I did by building a stand. It works like a charm.
