I have severe dry mouth. It's due to medication which I need. It was so bad my tongue would stick to the roof of my mouth and I couldn't open it again. I had really bad gun problems and lots of dental work from the infections that developed. Eventually I had to give Up a valuable medication. That was the last century and toothpaste and mouthwash weren't enough. I am.now taking medication that I wouldn't be able to if it weren't for Xylimelts. I found keeping up with the right mouthwash and using this does the trick. I do need some squirts of Biotene spray. That's instant saliva. Keeping this pouches against the gum has been a game changer. It doesn't show. I don't feel it except when it runs out, gets tiny and crumbles into my mouth. That is about two hours. A friend used it and it lasts four hours. I dont remember if I felt it after the first couple of days. It's curved design makes it undetectable. I think the first day of two I kept checking it stayed in place. It does. It doesn't need any particular placement. I put It on the tip of my finger and wherever it goes is fine. This really works. Finally a product that does work for very dry mouth. At night I put two in and they're still there in the morning. I m a mouth breather so the dry mouth was really hard on me comfort-wise. People try to be kind and suggest you have a drink of water. They don't know it's not thirst. I will say taking sips of whatever you like helps. But in the last century I had to give up a valuable medication because my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth so badly I couldn't open it again. Really embarrassing. It wasn't healthy for my gums either. This does it for me. I hope this helps other people who suffer from bad dry mouth or need it less often

I love the mint free version of Xylimelts. The mint flavored ones are also good but I'm not a fan of mint. As far as working to alleviate dry mouth, they work. I'm able to use 1 Xylimelt per night and get about 6 hours of comfort. That is sufficient for my needs. The instructions say that you can use 2 Xylimelts at a time, if you need them. Properly moistened before holding in place on your gum, they will adhere tightly. There are certain products that make my life better and Xylimelts are one of them. While not mentioned in the literature, my experience is that using these over the last two years, I've experienced zero cavities. For me, this makes sense as the Xylimelts help prevent bacteria from adhering. Since dry mouth also encourages cavities, using them regularly give you a leg up at preventing cavities while keeping you comfortable all night. I've never used them in the daytime but they are unobtrusive and were certainly help with chronic dry mouth. Definitely works for me.

XyliMelts Discs do help with dry mouth, though they don't 'last for hours' as described. Wish they did. But I still use them - as needed during the day and always at night when my mouth can get really dry. The brown side of the disc adheres to the inside of the mouth, so it's nicely secured and not a potential choking hazard. I am pleased with the mint-free variety, since mint tends to burn my tongue.

My husband gets relief from his dry mouth with this lozenge! Works well for him!

I have TMJ so I have to sleep with a chomper in so I don’t grind my teeth down to little stubs, and it props my mouth open all night so my mouth and throat dry out so badly it wakes me up. I suffered like that for months before I considered the fact that dry mouth causes more damage to your teeth and gums than grinding. I tried these after researching different products for the same thing and seeing that all other products have very short term effects. These are commonly used by people who use CPAP and oxygen machines. The tablets cause you to salivate and then your saliva mixes with the dissolved tablets and leaves a thick gooey coating in your mouth so it doesn’t dry out. I see some negative reviews complaining of the goo, however if you’ve ever had chronic painful dry mouth/throat like I have you would much rather have the goo in your mouth than wake up 16 times throughout the night to swish with water in vain. It’s a personal choice I suppose but I highly recommend the goo over the dry mouth. Also as a bonus the germs in your mouth eat the xylitol tablets until they explode and die, so you don’t have quite as disgusting poop breath when you wake up because you don’t have as many germs in there stinking up the joint, it’s a win win.

I can get terrible dry mouth while sleeping. These have made it so I can sleep the whole night with out waking up to drink water. I love theses. Gave me back a good nights sleep. I use Two every night. Simple get it a little wet, then I place gently and hold to the outside of the top left molar for a few seconds. The glue will hold it in place with out fear of swallowing. Then I put one on the top right side. They stick well to teeth and can be easily removed. If you leave it alone and fall asleep, it will stay in place for 4-6 hours, providing gentle lubrication to keep your mouth moistened while sleeping. They make your mouth water a little, and the xylitol gives a little lubrication. These are great for mouth breathers and people with sinus issues. These are a real game changer for the better.

Best solution to dry mouth that I have found

Great product. It actually really helps with a dry mouth. Far superior to the gels and spray (which only help fleetingly) and the strong mint or lemon flavoured sugar-free candies (which irritate a dry, sensitive mouth). The mild mint version of this is quite good too, but this is great if you don't want the flavour of mint in your mouth all the time. I was concerned about the stick-on element of this product, but rest assured, if you want to get it unstuck, just flush it with water or saliva and jiggle it gently, and it will come unstuck. Also, if you lick it a lot, it will only last 20 minuets or so. If you don't want to stick it to your mouth at all, just keep it moving in your mouth for the first few minuets, and then the 'glue' washes off and you can just suck it like a regular candy. Sticking them on is great if you know you'll be talking or sleeping. They also last longer when stuck on.

These are expensive as hell but I'm on wellbutrin and my mouth is a desert. I use them throughout the day and night. They do cause some discomfort after a while at night because I wear a mouth guard and they sort of rub against it but I can still fit them above. To think of it they do cause a heavy feeling underneath. The most notable thing is the improvement in my voice and my periodontal disease hasn't progressed. I switched to an electric tooth brush and using these and my gums feel healthier. Remember if you use these often they prevent bacteria from growing in your mouth. Beware they often are gone by the time I can fall asleep as I have insomnia and have to put more. Zero indigestion for me and I also use the gum and pastilles ( they are tasty but don't waste your time or money on them they dissolve fast)

I really love how these help with my dry throat. Recommended by a cancer liason nurse these have helped greatly. Wish they came in mint flavour like free samples I recieved here but are still effective. They adhere safely to your teeth and do not cause cavities. They are dentist recommended and are simple to activate. You can safely sleep with them in your mouth and they slowly melt away. No worries about choking. A fantastic product. Hope they start coming in flavours on Amazon.

Excellent product and great savings. Stays in place and lasts all night. Very delicate taste and adds just enough moisture for hours of comfort. I love the fact that there is no sugar especially when I use it every night at bedtime. I also use it when I have to wear a mask for a long time and unable to sip water. Excellent price and arrived before the estimated time.
