Elite BJJ Gi TESTED, TRIED, and TRIUMPHED.
I bought the Elite Sports BJJ Gi because of the price as well as the high number of positive reviews about their products. I have been training jiu-jitsu for only 4.5 years and have bought six gis in that time. I am a 51yr old, 265lbs, 6ft.3in blue belt bjj guy that is able to train about 4-6 classes over four days each week. This is my first Elite brand gi and I cannot say enough good things about it.FIRST of all, their online store was easy to navigate.SECONDLY, shipping was quick (two days) and packaged nice and secure, both the product and the shipping packaging.THIRD, the fit and sizing was just right for me. I know there is a sizing chart that you can check, but I just know the A5 is my size in all the different brands of gis I have. However, I always make sure I order from companies that offer free returns and exchanges for the correct size, so that’s never been an issue or worry for me.The pants (for my A5) were a great fit, my thighs were not busting the seams and were loose enough for me to move around, sprawl, squat, windmill, uchi-mata, butterfly, guard, etc. – all kinds of leg stuff that a tight fit would make me feel restricted. The A5 Elite gi pants are a good, strong, and well-sewn. As with most brands, Elite has plenty of drawstring length if you need to cut some off and tie a knot on the end. For this A5, I won’t have to do that. The top (for my A5) was also a great fit. The sleeve length was just right for me, the body length was right where I like it, and the flaps (whatever you call the part you close around your middle) were sized right so my wide girth of a belly didn’t keep it from closing. The shoulder and armpit area was not restrictive. My movements and mobility were fine while doing uchi-mata drills. I have another brand that likes to tighten up around my armpits and makes me feel like I am also fighting my gi as well as my opponent. I didn’t feel like I was fighting the fabric of the Elite A5.FOURTH, the breathability (for my A5) was incredibly impressive. I spent an afternoon of drilling, training, and rolling in our metal building bjj gym with no A/C and bay doors open for a fan to circulate. This July afternoon was hot (for me) at a Mississippi 104 heat index plus humidity. I’m not complaining, I’m just stating the fact that I didn’t test this in November. I wanted to see how the Elite compared to my other “summer” gi. The Elite breathed better than any of my other brands that markets itself as a hot-weather gi. Both are good, but the Elite definitely breathed better. Today’s training in the heat affirmed my choice of the Elite as well as it being the first brand out of my mouth to recommend to my friends.FINALLY, the price (for my A5) was better than any other brand I’ve bought. I have a 19yr old son who is also my height, strength, frame (but not weight), and level of bjj experience. I usually buy two of whatever bjj gear I get. I know that ELITE Sports has specials from time to time, and that helps, but even at regular price, it’s very affordable and appealing.BONUS. For what it’s worth, I have been talking about this gi to my bjj partners and when the day came to train, they knew it was to be put through the ringer. One incident that was funny was during our grip fighting, my opponent had my gi in his grips and paused (briefly) to comment, “Dude, that’s soft! That’s a good feeling gi.” That was a good distraction technique and he got the takedown. I love, love, love this gi. I wore it all day in our seminar and was as comfortable as I could be. Others were taking off their tops between sessions for a breather, but I kept mine on. Go get an ELITE Gi or two. You’ll be glad. (Photo at the end of the training/testing of the Elite A5.)

Great fit! Wonderful first Gi!
Got the Gi for my husband for his first one! Contacted a rep for best sizing as I was unsure. My husband is almost 6 ft, and runs about 220-230 lbs but he’s very muscular. Broad shouldered and long arms, so I was weary of sizing. We got an A4 per suggestion and it fits him great! The pants are a smidge long, but if he pulls them up farther on his waist they are perfect! We love the black with the red topstitch detail! Seems great quality! As I mentioned this is our first one (as we just started BJJ about a month ago) so we don’t have much to compare it to, but it seems to be made very well! Will be purchasing again for sure!

Don't be fooled by the price, These Gis are QUALITY!
Don't be fooled by the price, these are quality Gis! With a nice lightweight stitching, they already feel broke in when you order them! So glad I don't have to spend the next 6 months washing and rollling in a gi to get it to not be stiff as a board! They also threw in a free belt, which was nice because it was also very nice and soft and not incrediibly stiff. The Quality of the belt wasn't as amazing as the gi, with one side being a nice rounded seam and the other being a sharp meeting of 2 seems. if both sides of the belt were rounded, this would be my GO TO BELT!!! I will definateley be reccomending these to my friends and associates. Thanks Elite Sports!

Lightweight, durable and a good looking gi!
The durability is surprising for how lightweight this gi is. It’s very comfortable and super lightweight. The top seems like it’s almost a slim fit as it tapers towards the waist. It fits very well and easy to move in. The collar is tough but not rigid. It has almost a rubbery quality to it that I really like. The insides of the wrists are sewn to prevent fraying as are the ankles on the pants. I got the Navy Blue and on the inside of the wrists is a circle of gray. It gives a nice look to it overall. Very well made! The pants are very impressive in their range of motion and durability as well. The extra support in the knees is also a welcome addition. Again, very lightweight but deceptively durable. You don’t expect this kind of durability from a gi that’s soLightweight. It almost feels like a karate gi.The collar is tough but not rigid. It has almost a rubbery quality to it that I really like.I’ve purchased from Elite before. Their backpack is my gym go to bag.I’m very happy to add this to my gi “wardrobe”. Highly recommend.

Really good Gi, especially for the price
Usually with Gi’s I worry about them feeling tight around my thighs and restricting my range of motion with my legs. Not these, the pants were very flexible and gave me full motion. The top fit well, just a little breaking in needed around the shoulders. After pressure testing it for eight hard rounds straight out of the package I can say, it is very good quality, especially for the price.

Great affordable Gi
Ive been buying this brand since i started my bjj journey. Its been 5 years now. This new style tho is my first since the change. It is a little lower quality than the one before but still for the price range i think is still the best out there, fitting is great. Light weight, great as a travel gi and it is competition legal. So overall i give it 5 stars because of the price to quality.

Bang for the buck.
I have been wanting to test out this GI, im happy as hell I finaly did the GI is way lighter than I expected and it seems to be of a durable material. I definitely plan on customizing the GI with a few patches. All in all im very happy with this GI. I will definitely be getting one in a different color soon.

Not what I was expecting
I just received my Elite gi and so far it has exceeded my expectations. Visually, the green gi looks really cool. I was very happy with the color. The gi was a little heavier than expected, but after wearing in class it was barely noticeable. I'm 6'5 260lb and got the A5. It fits well, but I wish I got the A4. I like my gi a little shorter when it comes to grip fighting. I would recommend this gi to anyone, especially when starting out, because of the price point and because it feels like a quality gi

Un gi de la mejor calidad!
Que impresion al recibir este gi, ya que es de una calidad excelente, muy liviano y no le pide nada a las marcas top de jiu jitsu que suelen ser mucho más carasRecomiendo ampliamente Elite Sports!

Buyer beware, this is a small A2 Gi.
I can’t really rate this product based on quality; however, I ordered this Gi in size A2 because that’s the size I always wear. The Gi was posted from the US, so when I discovered that even before washing in cold water the Gi was way too tight across my shoulders my first thought was to return it to Amazon. Alas, because it is not deemed as faulty I’d have to pick up the postage costs, losing a further £20:00.Now I’m stuck with it and have to try to recoup some of the cost by selling it on.... not really impressed on the sizing of this item.

Poor stitching and weak give it a month you will wish you had spent more on a better gi
The material is ok and fits reasonably well however that’s as good as it gets. The stitching it of poor quality and only having a few light rolls and drills it is literally starting to come away at the seams. I suggest they have a look at this because I’m seriously annoyed. Maybe it’s a one off but I have had to pay the cost. Buy or stay away the choice is yours, ps you cannot contact the company directly to register a complaint.
