QUICKPLAY Kickster Elite Portable Soccer Goal | Integrated Weighted Base for Training on Turf, Hard Floors or Grass | Sizes 5x3', 6x4', 12x6', 16x7', & 3x2M [Single Goal]

I really wanted to give this goal a great 5-STAR review because it seems so functional and is probably the easiest goal of this size (12x6 feet) to set up and take down, but there is a fundamental flaw with the base that makes it almost unusable for turf or cement, and even affects its stability in grass. In the video for this goal it says:“Now the first issue that we wanted to address with this was stability on astroturf. So if you come in, I’ll show you what we’ve done. We’ve actually put about a kilo and a half of steel in each side of this--this is our 12x6--combined with this rubber base-weight at the front and back. The goal is actually stable without any weighting.”The ad-title for this goal literally says that it is a "Goal with Weighted Base". Unfortunately, the base is not 1.5 kilos/side nor does it have any rubber base-weights (see attached pics) as it claims in the video. Consequently, the goal is not stable on astroturf or cement/blacktop. The goal looks great and is easy to set up, which is why it is getting 1 star, but it is pretty useless since it will not stay in place as it should when shots are made.The model that was sent to me has U-stakes that can be put in the ground along the base, so if you are looking for something to use in grass and are willing to keep track of the U-stakes and stake it in each time, then this is probably the right goal for you. However, if you want a goal that is stable without having to be staked down (the way this one is advertised), then look at some of the other goals that have a more “boxy” look to them. Those do not need to be staked down, but they are not as easy to set up and take down as this one.I just wish this goal had come as advertised because it would have been the PERFECT goal if it truly had a weighted base!Now you know. I hope that this will help you in your purchasing decision.My next step is to contact the seller. I will update this post with news on how that goes.

I've had these for around a month and here are my thoughts. I bought two of them for my 9U soccer team (7 year olds). So far because of weather I've only been able to use them on turf, but they've worked great. They even stand up to hard shots taken by 13 year olds.Pros: Good sized but break down to a reasonably compact size (easily fits into my MiniCooper along with the rest of my gear)Shoulder straps on carrying bags make getting them around easier.Very sturdyAre weighted really well (don't fall over)The edges face out and make very small "goalposts".Cons: VERY heavy (see weighted comment above)Although my time in putting them up is going down, I'd say it's taking 4-5 minutes per goal. If you had someone helping it would be faster.I haven't followed the instructions for putting them up exactly. I've found it easier to put the corners of the nets on the posts before inserting them, but other than that the instructions are pretty clear and work well.Overall a good purchase.

I bought this goal for my son for Christmas and finally stood it up on Thursday. Once unwrapped, the components barely fit in the bag, and the Velcro on the bag consistently rips open as you’re carrying it, so that was strike one. While we were attempting to assemble the goal (having only just removed the protective styrofoam), we discovered one of the frame pieces was bent at the junction. We had to bend it open with pliers to even fit the pieces together. The frame overall was bent as well when put together, and did not sit flat on the ground. We did put the goal up and use it, and it was functional. This morning, we had to take it down before inclement weather. The very first time we are taking the goal down, the cable inside the frame snapped. I expected much better quality for the price, and wouldn’t recommend anyone purchase this item.

As another customer pointed out, I also received one without the weighted base. Instead of sending me the Elite 12x6 as advertised, I received the Academy 12x6 - no weighted base/rubber feet, frame not as beefy, and is available at a lower price point. Make sure you double check the box when you order as both goals are very similar.I have mine set up on a concrete driveway and the heavier base/rubber feet make a huge difference. If you plan on installing the goal on grass and have no issues using the included ground stakes then either goal is awesome. If portability and setup/take-down time is a premium for you, then definitely go for the Elite so you won't have to worry about stakes/additional weights (I was using cinder blocks until I received the replacement).Finally, the manufacturer's support is top notch. I contacted QuickPlay directly (based in the UK) and they took care of the mix-up even though I didn't order the goal directly from them. You can't go wrong with these goals.

Easy to say I am a huge like on this 16x7' goal. It went up very easily and the top "bar" is taut and we have hit it multiple times without noticing sag. In-fact the ball has rebounded better than expected from the non harden top "post". I included pictures from different distances to show the size needed in a yard compared to my 11 year old in the hopes it helps someone else determine what size to get. He needs a 21 -24' to go with his club sizes but it would have been too much in our back yard. This 16' makes him still have to dive for the ball when playing goalie or shoot for corners when attacking. Our old 12' was proving to be slightly inadequate for his size and was in need of an upgrade anyways. With the 4 stakes they give you, we have yet to power a shot making the net move. It has a very solid base for its size and portability. For the price, it is a very sturdy and useful goal. Taking it up and down is easy and it has taken a full soccer teams barrage of shots with no issues thus far. Very pleased with it. Well done!If I could make a suggestion, add a few extra of the bungees cords for the net in box just in case.

Firstly this is a great product and as it suggests is very easy to assemble. The version i received was however clearly intended for the German market as the packaging and instructions were all written in German. This wasn't a huge deal breaker for me because the assembly is pretty logical. Once packaging removed, no more than a couple of minutes to put up or take down. One of the poles had been dented in transport, but with a bit of brute force, i still managed to insert the other pole to make it work. Not worth sending it back for such a minor issue. Not the lightest, but again this is more of a positive attribute as i didn't have to peg it down at all (pegs are included) and it took some strong shots with no worries. At the discounted price i paid, worth every penny.

I bought this for using in training with my U9 football team.I was contemplating 4 or 5 stars on this one, I think 4 would've been at tad harsh, as it really goes up quite quick, and it is a fantastic training goal when assembled. Mind you I have only used them 3 times, so I can't be sure about longevity. But I have no reason to think it won't last as it really feels like quality both in the construction of the metal frame and the netting. I really like the way it all comes together as well.So why did I contemplate only 4 stars? Minor gripes you could say, but the bag holding it is just too lightweight. The first time i picked it up it felt like the straps would rip lose from the bag itself, and after only using it 3 times the goal hardware has already poked through the bag. This bag will fail, of this I am sure, time will tell when.Second small gripe (tiny this one) is the bungee straps that you secure the net to the bottom frame, these are supplied lose. Nothing wrong with them, but if they were attached to the frame setting up would be a little quicker, and more importantly you wouldn't lose them. I will try and zip tie them in place and see how that works.

Only thing that disappointed was that when we picked up the bag (by the handle) one end became detached apart from the extra sewing I had to do it was fine. We use them as we’ve started a group called 633ds Daisy squad to try and refurbish our King George V Playing Field (aka Daisy field) and are in the process of becoming a charity. We started a social football training day on a Saturday morning for the children to come and have fun at no cost to the parents and luckily The Port of Tilbury and the Tilbury Forum donated £250 each to get us started for which we are truly grateful. In the summer we are hoping to do cricket as well as we’ve gone from 7 children to 38 and it’s wonderful watching them make new friends and use up energy rather than seeing them bored.

Excellent item which has enabled good fun and exercise for my children whilst the schools are closed. These keep the balls more targeted and contained whilst it is more difficult to retrieve and I am sure the neighbours are delighted not to be repeatedly asked for their ball back!! Goal was very easy to assemble and is sturdy. Customer service was exceptional when a part was missing with a new set sent out immediately.

Could not recommend this enough, as a product it is immensely sturdy and the set up and take down is very quick. It is a bit on the heavy side if you are taking two as I have. Also a massive thank you to the customer service as well who immediately corrected a damaged set of pieces for me and were incredibly helpful. Again, could not recommend this product or company enough, will be getting all my equipment from them in the future.
