Q: Hi, will this work with the xtrons ice/hu/td698g head unit?

Hi, I don't have a td698g, but it didn't work very well with a Xtrons TA709IPL. The USB dongle is not screened which is a problem, but the TA709IPL emits a lot of interference at DAB frequencies. I had to wrap the DAB dongle in copper tape, put it in the boot (log USB cable) and wrap copper tape round the head unit body to get rid of the interference. Google xda-developers and DAB-Z to find my posts.

Q: I have a ford focus which has a heated front windscreen. would this effect the quality of the dab signal, if so where else could this be mounted?

It might cause some signal loss. You can buy adaptors which allow you to use the car FM antenna or even better use an external mag mount antenna.

Q: How long is the cable and can i fit the rear window instead of on the front windscreen on my vw scirocco. cable length would have been helpful to list

The antenna cable is not long enough to fit to the rear window. You could use a USB extension cable, that is what I dis and put the stick in the boot, to get it further away from the noisy radio screen.

Q: Where is the USB port on unit

The USB socket for this DAB dongle should be in the wiring loom that attaches to the back of the Xtrons head unit.
