Geometric Colorful Puzzle Board - 5 Shapes: Kids Early Learning and Development Toy, Wooden Matching and Sorting Educational Set for Toddlers

Puzzle came and it was warped, pressed board with veneer on the front and back. The board doesn’t lay flat and the veneer came chipped on the front and back of the puzzle. It’s a shame because the actual puzzle pieces seem of good quality. When I contacted the seller about the quality of the puzzle, they told me to contact Amazon... so not so helpful. Luckily I got a refund and I don’t have to send the garbage puzzle back.

This puzzle is awesome in theory. Great size, well-constructed, cute colors and variety of shapes. The problem is paint comes right off. You can see where the blue and red came off when wipes with a damp towel. You can also see the blue paint rub onto the wood base. My son is 13 months so he still puts stuff in his mouth. Even if he was past this stage, children’s toys should not be like this. They should be sealed or use a dye or paint that doesn’t just come off. And they should test the product before selling it like this. I’ll keep it at this point because the box was tossed. I’ll just have to keep a good eye on him when he uses it. Too bad because the actual product is really nice.I updated my review from two to one stars. I just cleaned the puzzle with a wipe and flakes of paint are coming off and the wipe is getting caught on rough edges. Not safe for children.

The package arrived in the standard brown amazon box, but also comes in a box from guidecraft, which makes it easily wrappable if it is a gift. It is made of all wood, the knobs for the pieces are screwed in, not glued, so the likelyhood of them falling off and becoming a checking hazard are very low. The colors are lovely and vivid. The base is warped, but I'm not taking any stars off for that because a: I doubt my baby will ever be bothered by it, and b: when something is made of wood it is highly subject to warping when temperatures and air moisture levels vary. It is the perfect size, not too small but not obnoxiously large. 5/5 in my book and definitely worth the cost.

The pros for this puzzle could be cons for some people. Here are what I find to be pros:1. Sturdy Wood. Because this item is made of real wood, it is extremely sturdy and will stand the test of time. Unlike many of the puzzles on the market today, this puzzle is not made from MDF but actual wood.The little one for whom this was bought, loves mouthing everything yet it shows absolutely no signs of wear and tear after several months of use. However, since it is so sturdy some may find it a bit heavy.2. It's easy to slide pieces in. As a first puzzle I find that it's a great thing to have the pieces fit so effortlessly. It allows kids to feel proud to do something on their own with no help. If however, you're looking for a more challenging puzzle for fine motor practice or otherwise then this may not work for you because the pieces are really easy to slide it without the kid having to make much effort to make it fit.3. It's a great tool for teaching kids matching skills. Separate color-coded stickers are sent with the puzzle that fit perfectly into each shape's spot and I find this helps with matching skills and learning colors.

This puzzle is excellent quality, solid wood. It is indestructible and my toddler is *rough* on his toys. I like that the pieces fit any way you turn them, as opposed to the Melissa and Doug shape puzzle where you can only put the pieces in one direction, which just leaves my kid frustrated. This product is definitely worth paying a few dollars more for.

Very well made. I initially bought two similar puzzles by Melissa and Doug but as soon as I received those I was greatly disappointed. Both puzzles were cheaply made with cardboard type of material, not wood and still very expensive. I returned those and got this one instead.This one is made of nice wood, well routed cut-outs for the shapes to fit and colorful painted shapes (no stickers). This did come with color stickers for the consumer to apply inside the cutouts if wanted. I chose not to use them.If there is one thing to improve, it would be the square size. As is, it fits inside the circle which is confusing for my 15 month old. If it were a tad larger it wouldn't fit inside the circle. But this is a minor flaw compared with the rest of the product. My son loves it.

I really like this puzzle. I bought it because I thought the large knobs were a brilliant idea. My son has trouble holding the little knobs on his other board puzzles, but this one makes it easy for him to grip and manipulate. I do think it is way overpriced for something so simple

Nice quality puzzle. I don't know what sheerness is that's why it only got a 4.We added a 5/8" Velcro dot to each piece to make it a little more challenging after my grandson mastered it.
