The shredded memory foam is fresh and clean, without any visible contaminants. One of course will need to allow the foam to " air out", so that the inherent synthetic odor dissipates.What sets this pillow apart from the competition , in my opinion, is the exceedingly generous amount of shredded memory foam supplied, coupled with the ability to open the inner case and add or remove memory foam as desired. After allowing a few hours of time for expansion, it becomes evident that each pillow has arrived "stuffed to the gills" with shredded memory foam. There is, in addition, an extra bag of supplemental memory foam sent with each pillow.The option to add or remove memory foam is exceedingly important, because different people will require different degrees of loft, to supply a particular degree of support and positioning of head and cervical spine, for maximum comfort.As an example, in my own case, I have historically used a very thin, very hard pillow, because of a propensity for bulging cervical disks and consequent nerve root irritation. Particularly when lying supine (on my back), thick puffy pillows have historically elevated my head excessively, causing a flattening of the normal lordotic curve of the cervical spine, resulting in nerve root irritation, and next-day neck and shoulder pain. However, although a hard thin pillow has been helpful for me in that regard, it has been somewhat uncomfortable otherwise.I initially tried the pillow as delivered, filled to the brim with memory foam. Although very plush and initially comfortable, it had the aforementioned adverse effect on my head/neck position, with resulting pain in my neck. After removing a significant amount of shredded memory foam, I was able to shape the pillow for the exact configuration I needed (in my case, a prominent "pocket" of memory foam right beneath my neck, with a much thinner amount behind my head).As mentioned in my opening sentence above, the first decision to be made is whether or not a shredded memory foam pillow is right for you. If it is, then you will find an enormous latitude in ability to personalize this particular pillow, which I highly recommend.

These pillows perfectly balance firmness and softness, making them fluffy and comfortable! I admit that I was a bit skeptical when I first took them out of the vacuum-sealed packaging. However, after following the instructions to fluff them up and putting them in the dryer the next day as directed, all my doubts disappeared. They barely fit in the pillowcase, I love these pillows! They are just what I needed for a good night's sleep.Well worth the price I Paid for them. They fluff up as soon as you raise your head and return to their original shape.

I ordered these pillows to replace some that we purchased locally that were short lived and went flat. When these arrived, like people mention, then arrived vacuum sealed. I let them expand, and then threw them in the dryer for a bit to puff up some more. I didn’t experience any of the odors that people mention, but then again, I am not sensitive to most smells. The pillows expanded and were big and plush. My wife and I then removed some of the stuffing from our respective pillows.That night we gave them a test. Upon waking up in the morning we both decided to remove a little more stuffing which we did. Since then my wife has been sleeping excellent with her pillow. Not a single complaint! I on the other hand have just been battling to find some comfort. I’ve removed, added, removed again, added again, and just can’t seem to find the perfect pillow.There have been nights where I’m just tired so I don’t wake up due to discomfort, but when I do wake up I have a slight neck ache. At the time of writing this review it’s 05:26AM and I’m awake with a ponding headache which feels like it stemmed from a neck ache originally.Sad to say, but these pillows just aren’t for me. It seems good for a night at most, and after that leaves me with a lot of discomfort. For me wife though; they seem great. If you’re reading my long-winded review and are on the fence, my advice would be to try these. They work for most, but aren’t for everyone.
