Not to much ,not to little .
This knife has some bend ,but not flimsy . I have the longer one as well for watermelons and cantaloupe and fish. But I can use this one for a heck of a lot more things then Watermelon . I carry it as a side knife in hunting season ,a kitchen knife ,and a fish knife. To name a few. It has stiffness but bend as well , but not like a fillet knife bend. I really do like it a lot. All my Uncle Henry's are value for the money. This is more of a all around carry knife than a fillet only knife. It feels like a dare you knife ,but works for everything . It's definitely worth every penny paid , and then some. Also very nice leather sheath. Trust me you will keep it a long time. If I had to buy either or I'd 100% buy this one every time. Just because it's not just for one thing only .

EXACTLY what I was looking for... you too, maybe...
Don't laugh, but I'm not a fisherman. So, why am I writing a review for this product? Well...I was fed-up with the crap letter openers I was dealing with and thought "Hmmm... what would be the ideal (IMO) letter opener? 5-ish inch narrow blade... v-e-r-y sharp... good grip... decent weight... no foo-foo looks... I know! A good filet knife!"I scrolled through scores of them and then spotted this one. Seemed to totally fit my needs. I'm extremely pleased with it. Fits all of my requirements; right size & shape of blade, excellent weight, great looks. Plus, came with a decent sheath. Couldn't be happier.

Nice for Blue Gills
It has a nice feel in the hands. Sturdy and well made. The blade is a little bit thicker than Rapala Fillet knives which is ok. The only problem I had with it was when I tried to slide the knife back into the sheath, the tip of the blade came through the top of the end of the sheath. It's suppose to slide in all the way with just a two inch of the handle sticking out for retrieving the knife. I can see where there can be a design flaw in it. The blade come up on an angle when you have it in the sheath. The opening needs to be just a little bit larger to accommodate for this.

WOW!
What a great knife! Beautifully made, and the sheath is incredible! Beautiful leather. Very impressed with the quality of this knife, especially at this price! It came in a nice box, not a plastic package. This is not the updated Next-Gen version, but the older version. I called a store that sold both, and they said the older version has a slightly thicker handle and an extra rivet on the sheath, which is why I bought this knife instead of the newer Nex-Gen model.

Buy This Knife
I bought this Schrade Uncle Henry Walleye Fillet Knife for a trip up into the Minnesota Boundary Waters. I spent a week camping and fishing up there with five other guys. Half our food came from fishing, so we needed to clean and fillet the appropriate catches. I mainly cleaned Small Mount Bass and Walleye. I was seriously impressed with the quality of this knife. Not only was it super sharp, but it had a weight that made it feel nice and solid. The knife looks great and has a nice sheath. Here's a tip: Drill a hole through the center of two wine corks. Untie the leather strap on the knife and loop it through the corks. Retie the strap. Bingo! You have a floating knife if you ever capsize your canoe! Buy this knife.

I have a 30 year old Uncle Henry Steelhead that is awesome, I bought one from Ebay a couple of years ago and it was a too thin, piece of junk with a garbage sheath. Reluctantly tried this as I wanted a shorter blade for panfish (sorry this blade is too short for any walleye I've caught), it is a superb knife so far, the blade is seemingly identical to the UH Steelhead that is 30 years old, .the scales are of seemingly good quality and the sheath is too, the blade tang is a bit proud toward the back but this is a small concern. I flexed the blade in both directions without it taking a set. I will report back if there are any issues that arise. I will order another as it's always good to have two sharpened up

On the go great choice
Terrific Knife for travel. I bought one as well as a Shrade 150OT to take on trips. Because we vacation with a dog and hence have to shun hotels, we stay in beach cottages and mountain side town houses where the locales are ideal but the supplied kitchen cuttlery is clearly not at a high standard. We love to cook & make good use of the kitchens at our temporary homes. The Shrade 168UH is a great carving knife and the 150OT a very handy for pearing fruit and veggies as well as slicing cheese. Both knives are VERY sharp, keep their blades and even feature leather scabbards for carrying in my "go bag".
