ACDelco GM Original Equipment 10-5055 (01052351) Multi-Purpose Compound Grease

I tried Prussian Blue and couldn't get a readable pattern on the gear. This gear marking compound made it so much easier and honestly goes a long way. I painted 5 teeth at least 8-10 times trying to get everything set to the best possible position. This runs off fairly easily when the ring and pinion gear make contact so I can see the pattern very well. Only downside is it doesn't come with a brush, but that's easy to grab at any store so it doesn't affect the review.

I used it to mark the ring gear to see how the pinion was contacting it. Worked good.

Worth the money and worth the 2-3 day shipping time. This contains enough to do many applications. The best part is that it goes on very easily without needing to be cut with oil. It seems like it will have a decent shelf life in the tube it’s in. I painted 3-4 teeth in two sections and I it gave me a reading on the entire ring gear. Each tooth had a legible reading. BTW I used the original GM shims as removed. And although it appears the set up could’ve used an added pinion shim and the backlash was tight. No more GM differential noise.

This is surprisingly difficult to find, glad it was on here with fairly quick shipping. Got the job done.
